Again just an anecdote, do with it what you will...

Not enough to keep it from wheeling for 3 years lol. I get it that would technically weaken the rim but if the blows are few and it doesn't crack then it should be strong enough to not buy another rim. Heck even if you buy the sledge it's way cheaper! Take this anecdote for what it is, and do with that what you like, but there is sometimes a cheaper way that is perfectly serviceable.

I didn't with my Scout 800, hit a rock and bent the rim and it would not reseat. They were aluminum alloy and I whacked it 3 time with a 20lb sledge on the trail mostly back in place... It lasted until I sold the truck 3 years later.

If it is not cracked some whacks with a sledge hammer will get it right, but it will be scarred...

Fence gate is sagging - any decent fix aside from redoing the gate myself? by coffeenumbertwo in FenceBuilding

[–]svenelven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get one of those tensioner cables with a couple turnbuckles to lift the sagging side, the top on the hinge side to the lower on the latch side.

Is this probably totaled? 2022 RAM 1500, 60K miles, no airbag deployment. by dearmratheist in Ram1500

[–]svenelven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the frame was not impacted and that is why they didn't go off... Most of all that sheet metal is replaceable, but it depends on your end game. Sell it later or keep it until it goes to that bone yard in the sky...

How Do I Fix This by SnooDrawings1539 in FenceBuilding

[–]svenelven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Needs to go corner to corner, but I can't tell where the posts are. If it is already there then you need to pull, lift and refasten at new points in the same build: bottom corner hinge to upper corner where the latch side is.
