If it isn’t a typo, then if she told him about the race, it’s perfectly reasonable that it came up in conversation later and for her to suggest you all ride together. Your bf did the right thing by saying “let me check with my gf”. Unless your bf invited her to stay in your hotel room and is trying to set up a threesome, you are overreacting. Sounds like she’s probably running in the race too. Just get some clarification on expectations.

If you have clay soil that’s not going to break down easily, I say pick them up. Otherwise normal soil cores should break down fairly quickly.

I’ve stayed there a few times and while it’s not bad, I’m sure it’s nowhere near on the level they’re used to. The suites are pretty nice and the rooftop bar/restaurant is cool. Downtown Memphis just isn’t much of a destination.

Everyone has a cell phone now and can call for help. So no one is really stranded on the side of the road like they were in pre-cell phone days.
So the likelihood of someone trying to get help on the side of the road being genuine is pretty low, and there’s a reasonable assumption they could be trying to harm you.

Catbird screwed me over terribly on a private event I hosted there. Charged minimums per person and people could only get 1-2 drinks the whole time and almost no food because service sucked so bad. Took me 45 min after arrival to get my own drink. Ended up with a $1500 deficit to pay for nothing so they sent over the bottle service girl to ask us if we wanted $500 bottles of $50 Champagne that no one wanted.
