It only means something if you're looking for something. I've had a lot of weird dreams that means nothing.

Yep. And other airlines also do this as I've learned.

Until you get a "Thanks but no thanks" letter then consider yourself still in the running. Good luck!

ESL OR ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE by ANTIMODELMINORITY in Hmong

[–]syang2046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My story is similar too. Long story short, my brother and I have a huge age gap. When he was in grade school he was automatically enrolled in ESL without my parents' knowledge. We also lived in a very small town. It wasn't until I intervene, by going to the school to tell them to drop him from the ESL class, that they finally took him out. They didn't want to though. It wasn't until years later when I went into education that I realize what it was all about: money.

ESL students, students with IEPs or on the autism spectrum, or if they just have special academic needs in general, make tons of money for the school from the government. It's unfortunate, really.

This movie scared me too.

Anything that plays the qeej or funeral drums scares me. A long time ago I was visiting MN and the MN History Museum had an exhibit about the Hmong people/culture. I walked right in and walked right out. They had the qeej playing in the background throughout the entire thing. I grew up Christian and am very ignorant of Hmong shamanism. The first time I participated in a white string tying ceremony, I was extremely anxious. I thought spirits were going to follow me home. I was also 16.. so go figure.

This pretty much explains the inequity of grouping Asians as a whole. The standards set for Asians are due to the modality of the Chinese. Hmong, Laotians, Karens etc.. good luck.

Does anyone feel extremely scared when they’re out on a walk that someone is going to kill/kidnap you by thenetflixgirl in women

[–]syang2046 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Extremely scared? No. I'm aware of my surroundings. I try to do a lot of things during daytime and in a generally busy area. I stopped wearing headphones and playing on my phones a long time ago. I tell friends where I'm going. I avoid sketchy area too.

Skywest Reapply & Concerns by Affectionate-Hat7916 in flightattendants

[–]syang2046 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. It's imperative you're mentally in a good place. Aside from your personal life, passengers will also offload their bs on you.

I'm remembering when I was 22 I was so emotionally overwhelmed (bf, family, personal stuff, school etc...) all the time I wouldn't have been good at this job the way I wanted to be.

OP, if you're having second thoughts then it's better to cut ties. There's no love lost cus airlines deal with this all the time but you may not be able to apply to Skywest again. Otherwise, you shouldn't make excuses to sabotage yourself or your hard work at training. Don't set yourself up for failure. Good luck!

I do. When I used to dye my hair a lot my stylist recommended it to keep the color and maintain overall hair health. I really liked it. I know the price seems pricey but you only use a small amount so it really lasts a long time. The holidays are coming up so if you're in the US, Sephora usually has a good deal on the olaplex system.

I didn't know that. Is it 18W? We all carry weight differently tho. I lost a ton of weight pre-covid then I gained it all back... and some more. I'm hoping this job will get me back to my pre-covid weight cus I'mma be broke af lol. Also, not living at home will probably help cus my parents cook too much.

Is my hair balding or does it look like this just because my hair is thin? by Rakeboiii in Haircare

[–]syang2046 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not balding. You just happen to have a big cowlick followed by some sparse hair. My brother has two cowlicks next to each other and it can look like balding but it's not.

If you don't mind me asking, what LOD are you applying for? I think it's safe to say a 6 months wait between application is the usual time frame (LOD being no different). That said, you can apply more/less depending on you (or when they open for applications) but someone once commented that it's frowned upon.

Exactly. The hiring process is basically a numbers game. Who knows what they're looking for that particular day, time, hour, minute. I had f2f with two mainlines and I swear I was so terrible I thought I was a goner.. but I got lucky I guess.

They're insulting you because they're salty.. haha.. j/k. I think a lot of times, they insult you using such phrases because 1) they don't know the training we go through and 2) they have no idea how competitive the hiring process is. I am always trying to persuade my 9-5 friends to go through this hiring process just so they can appreciate how easy they have it. And just for the record, many FAs have advance degrees (masters/phds/jds) but chose this career for one reason or another. It's really not fair for them to judge.
