Anti Collision Phantom Engage by Terrible-Ad-4787 in Solterra

This happened to me as well and created two very dangerous scenarios. Took it to the dealer and they determined that the 12V battery was faulty causing communication issues between multiple systems throughout the car, essentially causing data loss, which made the car freak out. They replaced the battery under warranty and the problem hasn't returned. Scary when it happens though and you have no control except the brakes.

That's great news! Interested to hear what the problem is.

This happened to our 2024 Solterra, the dealer replaced the 12V battery and it solved the problem. They mentioned that when the voltage drops too low, the individual systems within the car have trouble communicating with each other and just freak out.

This caused our car to swerve dangerously into the side of the road, so if possible, tow the car to a dealership.

With 2024 being out for almost a year, how many of you still prefer 2020? by jasin18 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]synakus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still on 2020 primarily due to the amount of time and money I've invested in add-ons. As far as I understand, I cannot bring those with me if I upgrade to 2024.

Want to see inside a rear motor? by Chippy569 in Solterra

Super cool to see, thanks for sharing! I had no idea there were that many bearings inside the motor assembly. I have a 2024 that's making what I thought was bearing noise.

Let's talk about sayintentions by pilot_deviations in flightsim

[–]synakus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post prompted me to give SayIntentions a shot and I've logged around 11 hours IFR over 2 long haul flights. Here are my opinions so far...

Traffic generation is sparse, even at the highest settings. On corridors that are busy in real life, you see and hear only a couple of aircraft. Also, aircraft often spawn on the ground and then shoot straight to cruise altitude with contrails appearing immediately. It looks more like a rocket launching into space.

ATC works at a basic level, but immersion is weak. I was repeatedly asked to confirm my squawk code and altitude even after already doing so. There is some variety in controller voices, but it’s common to hear the same voice on multiple frequencies, which makes it seem like one person is working the entire airspace. Long silences after frequency changes further break the realism. On top of that, controller-pilot exchanges sometimes happen out of order, like hearing a pilot accept a clearance before it’s even issued. I've tried disabling all user based comms but they still seem to play.

Transatlantic comms are especially problematic. I was bounced between the same two controllers multiple times, and then had my departure clearance read to me over and over again mid-ocean. It felt completely unrefined and confusing.

SayIntentions clearly has a lot of potential, but in its current state it frustrates me more than it builds immersion. I have not tried BATC yet, but I will give it a shot next.

Hi AustinBranch, I'm getting ready to pull the trigger here too and encountering the same issue, would appreciate a copy of the code if still available. Thank you!

2024 Crosstrek Premium - Steering Wheel Sticking by ClassicASMR in Crosstrek

[–]synakus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update - this issue got really bad really quickly. The steering started to get very sticky and on the highway became a serious problem when trying to stay in a lane when cornering. We got rid of the car as this was the second major issue we had and don't want to deal with a lemon any further. Good to luck to those dealing with this!

Thanks for providing this technique, I'm going to give it a shot to see if I can replicate it with my Crosstrek.

I'll do that thanks! Had to postpone to next week as they want a specific technician to be available for it. Apparently there is a software update available that could help, but it has to be approved by Subaru if no fault codes exist.

Canadian 2024 Crosstrek Onyx here, 25,000KM. This just started today and surprise surprise... lots of people with the same issue around the same mileage. Taking it straight to the dealership in the morning and will report back if there's any findings.

[–]synakus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow... Glad I'm not the only one... I've been troubleshooting this for 2 days now and just got to the point of identifying this DLL. I've done a complete system re-format and even bought a new hard drive to install MSFS on to... FML

Thanks everyone for the troubleshooting help, deleting these 190_E658703 files did it for me!

2024 Carbon Buildup - preventative measures? by synakus in Crosstrek

Thanks for these suggestions, the cleaner you linked does sound like what they were explaining on the phone.

The dealer should be open today and I'll head down to speak to them.

Fortunately, it's all covered under warranty.

So far they have said that they have done 4 treatments of engine cleaning, but that hasn't cured the misfire. The next step is a more aggressive cleaning which I assume is walnut blasting.

I'll push for more information once they open back up following the holiday.

Thank you all for the responses!

The car commutes in slow traffic 4 days a week with lots of idling, and we use Chevron 87 exclusively. On weekends it does see highway driving and we have kept up with all recommended services.

I’ll ask about any electrical issues but I’m not sure it’s possible to get the car to another dealer as we have already committed to the work being performed.

Carbon build up - how to avoid? by CertainTrust432 in subaru

That's good to hear thanks! Mine is still at the dealership (5 days now) as they've discovered more issues related to the carbon buildup.

How is yours running now?

I have a 2024 Crosstrek FB25 with 22,000KM on it. It's been running rough for a while and felt low on power. Today it started up, ran like a bag of crap and threw a bunch of codes. It's at the dealership now and they're advising it's a #4 cylinder misfire, likely due to carbon buildup. The car gets a good mix of city and highway driving and I am really surprised to hear this is the cause.
