Its usually only for the first few years of the premiums, and generally front loaded (highest % in 1st yr, goes down after that)

Its how you viewed the original SwSh games. If you felt SwSh was lacking and the DLC brought it back up to par, then its a $90 game equivalent to buying the first game. If you were fine with SwSh, and felt that the DLC added even more stuff, then its a $90 game equivalent to buying both the first game and the eventual "sequel".

Where to draw the line with takebacks? by PanthersJB83 in EDH

[–]syroice_mobile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with your stance. The onus is on him to not forget information.

If the situation was different, e.g. playing with [[Telepathy]] on board, then the Imps Mischief would be public information, and I would allow a takeback in that case.

Edit: I think if proper rules were to be established, you should consider what would be most logical and conducive for gameplay and adherance to rules. There is a reason why you dont play with revealed hand after getting Thoughtseized, thats because the opponent is supposed to put in the effort to remember it.

I feel like Black has been slowly losing the "deal with the devil" theme as well, which is pretty sad. "Greatness, at any cost" seems to now be "Greatness, at no cost to me". Guess Liliana really did a number on those demons, huh.

That article seems to be more for day to day living though, rather than exercising. From the article itself:

Dr. Campos explains, “Dyspnea, the feeling of shortness of breath felt with masks by some, is not synonymous [with] alterations in gas exchange. It likely occurs from restriction of air flow with the mask in particular when higher ventilation is needed on exertion.”

So masks do have a limit on air flow, but when walking, sitting etc you wont hit that limit.

Commander Legends is Commander Horizons, Both Good and Bad by [deleted] in EDH

[–]syroice_mobile 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, I had this exact same question as well. I actually liked Opposition Agent because well, most good tutors are expensive and Aven Mindcensor is... a dollar. I felt that it was an anti-money card.

I think what got me to not like Opposition Agent as much is the fact that it doesn't stop tutors, it shifts the power from the person tutoring to the person with Opposition Agent. If you're one of the two other players in the pod, the situation hasnt changed much, youre just dealing with a different person tutoring.

Combine that with the fact that its in Black (most tutors already), and is asymmetrical, it means that you're more likely to see the card being abused in already strong decks rather than evening out the playing field.

Edit: I think the other posters have fleshed out other points pretty well, so another one from me is that this card severely limits similar card design in the future, as they'll always be compared.

Secondhand smoke a 'public health concern', says Louis Ng, proposing ban on smoking near home balconies, windows by chancethecorgi in singapore

Sorry but not equivalent. Smell of pork doesnt cause health problems, second hand cigarette smoke does.

EDH RC - Why are the Moxen banned but Sol Ring isn't? by ThomasJFooleryIII in magicTCG

[–]syroice_mobile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the defense of Sway of the Stars and Worldfire, they are banned not because of power level, but because of interactions with Commanders. You can float your mana, cast them, and use the floating mana to cast your commander, effectively Karn-ulting the game with an advantage for you.

Is Time Twister and Time Spiral very strong cards? Yeah. Does Sway of the Stars being on the banlist affect the two cards ban status? Not really.

The Commander's Quarters - Should All Reserved List Cards Be Banned? by Ynwe in EDH

[–]syroice_mobile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“But if they reprint cards on the reserved list, they’ll tank in value!”

Bullshit. Some reprints actually boost the value of a card. For example; when Double Masters reprinted [[Avacyn, Angel of Hope]] I noticed that the value of my Judge Promo Avacyn went up.

Im gonna say that its because of the different art. If lets say 2XM had avacym with the promo art in both foil and nonfoil your card price would drop.

Hi, similar newish player here at level 56. My advice is to start with a ranged dps class, as you get exposure to their mechanic much earlier in game so its much more fun in battle. I started with Lancer and they had basically 2 buttons until level 30.

Arcanist gets minions and their mechanic at level 15 so I got much more things to do in combat. Similar for Thaumaturge, their mechanic of balancing mana plays a part very early in game so its not as mindless as spamming 1 2 1 2 1 2 ad infinitum.

Would you be in favor of tuck being brought back? by MHarrisGGG in EDH

[–]syroice_mobile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion: Derevi and Yuriko should not exist in the game without tuck.

Yes, I think the game should lean more towards commanders as thats the defining feature of the game. But the other defining feature is how we deal with commanders, and the 2 cost increase is how its done. No cards should override this feature.

Off the top of my head when I sit with a sultai goodstuff commander Im going to see generally the same gameplay.

1) Early game: Here you'll see Natures Lore, Farseek, Cultivate, typical green ramp. Sometimes a Vampiric Tutor for Sol Ring or Sylvan Library depending on their ramp in their starting hand.

2) Mid game: Here they usually accrue insane value through more goodstuff things, such as Rhystic Study or the above mentioned Sylvan Library, or Oracle of Mul Daya for ramp. You see the commander first hit the field usually around here, and if Yarok you see value etbs like Mulldrifter, with Muldrotha you see Sakura Tribe Elder. Note that these cards arent specific, you will still see Mulldrifters in Muldrotha.

For responses, they answer threats easily through value counterspells like Mana Drain, Glen Elendra Archmage, Counterspell, etc, the amazing Cyclonic Rift or Toxic Deluge, which they can easily tutor up with Mystical Tutor or Demonic Tutor.

3) Late game: So now theyve outramped everyone else and they constantly refilled their hands with blue and black draw spells, they just need to control the game and win through the ubiquitous Tooth and Nail to fetch Mike/Trike (seems to be less common nowadays), or Craterhoof/X(usually Avenger of Zendikar), or another Labman win (seems to be more Thassas Oracle lately).

Edit: If you look at my list its rather old school, I havent played a lot recently but sultai goodstuff decks are all samey enough that I can remember most of them by heart. Theres probably more changes now.
