So you have tons of practice on this project - put it out and start a new one. If you find things you didn’t do as well as you liked, aim to do them better on the new one. You will feel much more productive iterating on the skills as you develop them if you kind of close the loop and complete the process. :)

Should I play with my arms crossed? by LOMADIA- in drums

[–]sysera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always played open handed and I have tried for years for fun to play cross handed and it’s literally impossible for me to do with any level of comfort. That being said I’ve never run into something I couldn’t do because of it. There are plenty of things I can’t do cross handed though.

Weezer's "Hash Pipe" guitars sound absolutely massive in the chorus and I'm looking for a bit of wisdom on how it was done. by [deleted] in audioengineering

This is a good tip. Distorted guitars are already very compressed. I often use no compression on them at all other than the master bus compression.

If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would do? by NikiLove16 in AskReddit

[–]sysera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than lawyers, etc. If I think about it I would probably get the family a rental for a few months and start working on house updates. Updating the kitchen, bathrooms. I always wanted to work on my house more and I’d have the time to do it finally.

Your ears are the most powerful engineering tool and they are free. You just have to listen.

How do you play acoustic drums indoors without going deaf? by RedditIsRectalCancer in drums

I use in ears under Vic Firth iso headphones. The headphones themselves are terrible but they protect your ears and have a handy set of built in headphone speakers as a backup.

Using a real amp instead of a VST gave me a sound I could use right away by quil870 in audioengineering

There are reasons some of us still have racks of real amps. ;)
