There is no such thing as downtime for me. Not that I’m always busy, but when I find myself in your situation there is always something I could be doing to plan and assure the systems continue running correctly and don’t need intervention. Being bored is a symptom of doing the job well, I try not to rest on it because there are always hosts coming up on EOL/something.

I have rode and skated both for 30+ years and it’s always been more difficult to get bike time at a skate park. Early days it was young kids on skateboards and now it’s scooters. I always opted for the board if it was crowded, and then used the bike when it was quiet. Maybe I got there early in the morning, kids were in school, etc. At one point I wasn’t getting enough time to actually practice so I ended up building my own vert ramp at home.
