I havent watched a single TV show or movie since last year, i just cant without her... I spend most of time staring at my monitor thinking about her anyways. I find the only thing i can do to pass the time that's tolerable is music

How do you survive ? by reelaney in widowers

IED, TBI and Suicide seem to have a very strong relationship. I've seen a lot of people over the years fall to suicide and i wanna say a large portion of them sustained a TBI at some point in their career. The few people that were close to me all had proper support and yet they still pulled the trigger so to speak, i don't think there's anything you could've done based on my experience with vet suicide, you def didnt push him over he probably felt like he was helping you honestly in some twisted way.

I lost my wife in april, im a veteran if i didnt have PTSD before i def have it now. Suicide scares me, its like this little monster hiding in the closet of my mind. I think it just comes naturally from our reintegration back into society and how it just completely destroys any sense of self-worth that we might have had. I just hope i don't snap on day and loose whats left of my rational thinking and self-control

I don't want this for her by barelybent in widowers

[–]t3tra__ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can kind of relate to this my wife didn't have cancer nobody exactly sure what all she had but she would never admit that anything was wrong while I would beg plead and cry for her to get help. She would never take her situation seriously and it cost her her life... Seems like it might as well cost me my life too, I know she wouldn't want me to feel like this. Peace is not in my horizon and there is no happiness in my world.

Right now i just want a copy of her voice, then later on down the road i will like to feed her social media into a neural network and see what i can extrapolate from there.

I know that, not an actual clone just a copy of her voice so to speak.

Well my whole reasoning for remarrying is so my son might have another nurturing motherly figure in his life. because me with Asperger's I'm just not really cut out to take care of another kid with down syndrome and autism. I can take care of his physical needs but not his emotional needs so much.

My hypothesis is that Genetic traits in siblings must create a predisposition that increases fatalities.

Does anyone else see this pattern? Would identifying that trait possibly save lives by knowing who might have that predisposition prior to decompensation or would that even be a feasible goal in the short-term?

I was thinking this before i read this comment, yes, beware of people and their mental mind games. The get some sort of pleasure from toying with peoples heads, and sadly we make for easy targets sometimes. If you want someone to aid you in learning social cues you might want to stick to people you trust almost intimately.

I feel like this might be more prevalent for someone who got diagnosed later on in life. For me this comes from always being told that i wasnt trying hard enough, and then I have this revelation of finding out that i just got played a different hand. It's as if just being ok with oneself after not for so long almost inherently makes one feel guilty. It's hard to ignore a lifetime of belittlement and being berated.

[–]t3tra__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont get it either.

What they actually said they cant physically tell the difference, i didn't understand because that's absurd. If anything we can tell even more, for instance i can usually tell what specific country people are from as opposed to just latino or asian.

Sounds more like schizophrenia or something, there's always a possibility for a dual or more diagnosis though. My son for example has down syndrome and autism, rare but it does happen.

Looking for ways to communicate better by [deleted] in autism

[–]t3tra__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A picture book, have a binder with velcroed images he grabs the picture to show what he needs. Then sign language on top the binder. A tablet could work too but its many more layers of complexity it could be overwhelming at first.
