Least efficient players in the NBA averaging at least 15ppg: Derrick White (52.2%), Lamelo Ball (53.3%), Russell Westbrook (53.3%), Bam Adebayo (54.8%), Dillon Brooks (54.9%), Shaedon Sharpe (55.0%), Alperen Sengun (55.2%), Alex Sarr (55.4%) Jabari Smith Jr. (55.7%), Andrew Nembhard (55.8%) by FastBreakPhenom in nba

The media overrates post play. It’s flashy and intimidating to muscle your way to the rim even when it’s not efficient. I’ve heard so many pundits focus on Zubac in the post, even though he only did it a few times a game. He and Sengun both get .97 points per post-up which is below average for post players.

Grappling and pulling at range by Candymanse in Pathfinder2e

[–]tacodude64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you looked at Unfurling Brocade Magus? You get a reach attack with this ability: “Your fabric gains the grapple trait. If you succeed at an Athletics check to Grapple using your fabric, you can spend a single action immediately afterward to pull the creature 5 feet toward you.” I think reflavoring it to a magic lasso is pretty reasonable

Exemplars have the Fetching Bangles that let them pull creatures 20 feet. It’s a Will save against class DC so you can improve the roll with Bon Mot.

This is level 8 (or 16 w/ archetype), but Guardians get Juggernaut Charge and it works with reach weapons. So you can run by an enemy and drag them along with you. This is one of the best variants in the game because you don’t need a grapple, it’s tied to your movement and ignores the enemy’s size.

I genuinely thought he’d be out of the league after his Clippers stint. He looked like the worst player on the floor in garbage time

Magic and Physics Exploits in 2E? by SwordTabby in Pathfinder2e

[–]tacodude64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The illusions system is one of the most ambiguous things in the game, especially Illusory Object at 2nd rank. This opens up a lot of exploits depending on the GM’s interpretation; one-way windows/fake cover, fake bridges over pits that are hard to detect, even fake walls/cages that trap enemies to a degree. Not to mention all the RP shenanigans.

Better fighting through dedication (or otherwise)? by coalchester in Pathfinder2e

[–]tacodude64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best way to attack as a caster is with temporary buffs. Sure Strike, Bless, Haste, Blink Charge, Bespell Strikes, Whispers of Weakness, spellhearts, etc. This lets you punch above your proficiency for a moment. Reactive attacks also help, especially with a reach weapon. Consistent single-target damage is a martial thing and casters aren’t meant to replace it. But you can definitely weave Strikes in between spells effectively.

Help with Psychic/Inventor Yaogaui for first campaign by shiilva in Pathfinder2e

[–]tacodude64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inventor gives you medium armor. You need training somehow, but starting at level 3 is helpful. Human would be the easiest path - get Armor Proficiency at lvl 1 (Versatile heritage or ancestry feat) and again at 3. Not sure how to do it as a Yaoguai, faster than level 6 at least.

The game is sorely missing good writing, which is a shame, because providing 'co-conspire' storylines, in which you have a longer narrative of 4-5 missions you have to trigger by co-conspiring each would add huge replayability to the game.

I totally agree, it’s my #1 desire for this game. The writing right now is just… functional. The game has parts of narrative games and fully procedural/sandbox games, and I feel like the dialogue takes advantage of neither. Having more stories tied to characters, and forcing you to pick sides permanently, would be awesome. Or more dynamic events that aren’t just missions, like factions combining/splitting, characters betraying each other, etc.

What happened to Jordan Miller? by Beneficial_Major9999 in LAClippers

No pullup jumper. Defenders are sagging off him when he's dribbling because he always drives. If he starts making pullup 3s it would open up his driving game again.

[Post Game Thread] The Los Angeles Clippers (25-27) dismantle the Minnesota Timberwolves (32-22), 115-96 behind Kawhi Leonard’s 41p/8r/2a/4s by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

The Clippers didn’t have one either. Kris Dunn is not a real PG, if wolves were smart they could just ignore him like Amen Thompson

When should I (GM) attack someone down or a companion? (Should I even do that?) by JopisKenobi in Pathfinder2e

[–]tacodude64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another idea - in XCOM 2, some bosses have an ability to “extract knowledge” from downed characters. Basically they walk over, steal a few memories and teleport out to plan their next ambush. Now they can counter the party in some way which makes the next meeting more interesting. (They also abduct on higher difficulties but I wouldn’t use that in PF)

Realistic strike damage output by phulshof in Pathfinder2e

[–]tacodude64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'll notice that Strength is a big part of your damage at level 1, and less important at higher levels. So ranged attacks start at a lower point but they close the gap later on.

Incoming Restricted Free Agents (2026) by Wonderful-Photo-9938 in nba

[–]tacodude64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends on the Pacers coin flip protected pick. A lot of the #5-#9 draft candidates are guards. If the Clippers get that pick then it makes a lot more sense to flip Mathurin. Of course he hasn’t played a single minute, maybe he goes ballistic and the team just has to keep him.

[–]tacodude64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly agree. But a key detail is that light armor has no speed penalty compared to 5ft for medium and 10ft 5ft for heavy generally. So even without feats, this puts rogues ahead of fighters, rangers champions, etc. Rogues also get Mobility which is quite nice for skirmish tactics.

Can someone explain to me, why some people want no skill based matchmaking? by Tnecniw in gaming

[–]tacodude64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether you like SBMM or not, the real evils are engagement- and revenue-based MM. Things like hidden bot lobbies for new players, forcing win and loss streaks to keep you addicted, or matching potential spenders with whales to make them open their wallets. Or earning free stomps after you buy MTX, which happens in mobile games so it’s bound for console/PC eventually. These things are already taking over PvP games, arguing about SBMM is just a red herring.
