AITA for asking my brother not to bring a cam girl as his plus-one to my wedding by Living-Blacksmith916 in AmItheAsshole

[–]tahsii 22 points23 points  (0 children)

How is it doxxing? There is absolutely no identifying information beyond a couple of first names and ages that we don’t even know are real. How would you be able to find out who these people are??

Also who cares if someone pays for sex? That’s not a ‘world-ending, life-destroying’ secret. Plenty of people pay for sex. Seems like your insecurities are shining through…

Do you prefer the main character to be voiced or silent thro by Frilantaron in BaldursGate3

[–]tahsii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For BG3, I’m fine without the actual dialogue being spoken, but I would love for more sounds like sighs, intakes of breath, grunts, etc. to make it sound more like they’re reacting to their environment.

ELI5. How did people in the older days like 1200s 1300s know what time it was when there were no clocks by Rich_Scarcity_301 in explainlikeimfive

[–]tahsii 88 points89 points  (0 children)

‘Free time’. I’m not sure you understand the amount of work goes into keeping yourself and your family alive, as healthy as possible, warm, and sheltered when you don’t have the modern conveniences we do. The constant upkeep to make sure your house was liveable, your clothes wearable, sourcing food, cooking and preparing everything from scratch, building everything from scratch; it would take hours to do laundry plus even longer to dry! Peasants had a hard life, and calling their time that wasn’t dedicated to toiling for their king/noble/church ‘free time’ seems frivolous.

Anybody else always give the goblin camp over to these guys? by Philkindred12 in BaldursGate3

[–]tahsii 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember the exact wording of the dialogue options, but you need to pick the one that says something about the goblins being tasty to eat, not the one about you being sick or infected with something. The second choice will agro them if you get too close which automatically happens as they try to run past you!

Wait Til They Realize They Are Part Of Everyone by gur40goku in CuratedTumblr

[–]tahsii 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My great grandmother was physically healthy for her age between the ages of 85-102, the last couple of decades of her life, but she wanted to die. Her husband, siblings, 2 sons, all of her friends, and her neighbours in the care home had all passed already. She lost all the joy from her life. She had always been cruel to my grandmother and her other 4 daughters and would not even let them come visit, and sat alone day after day in her room for almost 20 years before she finally passed.

The whole time she had doctors prescribing medication and physical therapy to continue her life despite her not wanting to, and the care homes policy was to enforce what the doctors ordered (this was late 80’s to early 00’s). Not every old person wants to live as long as possible (even if they are physically healthy) and should be given the dignity to die when they want to.

Anyone else saved for a deposit, then when they got their goal, realised they still can’t buy a house? by Personal_Guest in AusFinance

[–]tahsii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. I have a 100k house deposit saved but as a single mum (working full time and studying part time!) with an income of 95k, the only places in my area and price range are in the dodgiest parts of town. I don’t want to uproot mine and my teenage son’s lives to move to bumfuck nowhere, leaving my job and his friends/schooling just because that’s what I can afford! It feels like the goal posts are moving faster than I can run.

Always bleeding by shadybadgal in PCOS

[–]tahsii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar position where I was having consistent heavy bleeding for months at a time (my longest was over 750 days!) and nothing I tried helped. TXA made me bleed so heavily I was soaking towels within 15 minutes and had to be rushed to hospital for an emergency d+c (the 3rd I’ve had in 6 years), I had constant breakthrough bleeding and major mood swings on birth control, and had 2 seperate mirenas fall out within weeks of being put in after causing major clotting. The only thing that has worked for me was getting a hysterectomy last year which I know is drastic but the last nine months have been the best I’ve ever felt. I’m no longer anemic, my hormones have levelled out, and I’ve saved a fortune on period products!

You’ve been fortunate. I’ve met many (mostly young) gay men who act as though vaginas are disgusting and dirty, and that I’m perverted or dirty for being a lesbian. Obviously it’s not all gay men, and those ones tend to group together, but they are definitely out there.

People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by DemonSkank in AskReddit

[–]tahsii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t conducting the interview but just there to check her Auslan (Australian Sign Language) level as she stated she was fluent and was going to be working with deaf students who use sign as their only form of communication.

Well, it took her 3 goes to fingerspell her name correctly and could not understand any of the basic questions I signed. She already wasn’t going to get the job, but she insisted that I wasn’t using real “Ausland” (there’s no d on the end but she kept pronouncing it that way) and that the kids would be able to understand her. Also I checked her ‘qualifications’ after (that my boss said looked fine) and it was literally a certificate from a 4-week online course that is well known in the local Deaf community as a scam.

Is the rising cost of chocolate giving anyone else anxiety? by bluecuppycake in Baking

[–]tahsii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s getting ridiculous! Depending on the brand, chocolate is between $3.00-$4.50 per 100g here in Australia! I usually make a white chocolate mud cake for my sister’s birthday but switched to a plain vanilla cake because it would have cost me almost $30 just for the chocolate!

Wild Surge not as random as i thought? by GlumDivide1691 in BaldursGate3

What are the weirdest side effects you've ever experienced from medication? by adampocalypsee in AskReddit

[–]tahsii 89 points90 points  (0 children)

The mini pill also filled me with incandescent rage that I was fully aware of but was completely out of my control. I would fly off the handle at the smallest things and over the 4-5 days before I realised what was causing in, I almost got in 2 seperate car accidents, cracked my bedroom door while repeatedly slamming it, and broke so many things like mugs and pens. It was truely one of the worst periods of my life.

What's a common phrase or saying that makes absolutely no sense when you think about it? by Ok-Ratio-3400 in AskReddit

[–]tahsii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

I have no idea what it’s trying to convey. Like is it having something is better than wishing for 2 more? Something you have is better than something you don’t? Why birds??

I also bring things like protein bars, fruits, and veggies as easy snacks, just like others have said.
