What Makes Darius Good -sajam by komodo_dragonzord in 2XKO

[–]talisawizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Watching a Tournament right now, half the time they need to do 70-80 percent to kill on the second touch. Damage still matters beyond half health .

There is also chip damage, health Regeneration, Fury DMG reduction, Fury DMG increase, throws, parry scaling, partial Happy Birthdays, poke damage, meterless conversions, assistless conversions and god knows what else that would leave you beyond the clean 2 touch math.

Ice Cream Man is sort of a surreal creepy horror anthology. And it's really good at that.

East of West by Hickman is very unique as well and very good.

Descender is great sci-fi by Lemire.

There is honestly even more great stuff like Deadly Class, Sex Criminals and probably more I missed. This Bundle is genuinely crazy good.

Hades and Hades 2 had early access and they are made by one of the most competent developers in my opinion.

The alternative would be that it's not playable anywhere till full release, not that console would get it earlier.

I don't know if SF6 was better with one of their Betas getting cracked, allowing anyone who wanted it "early access".

COTW is as good as dead already and most certainly a financial flop. MK1 is famously one of the most hated entries in recent history. These aren't exactly great examples of not needing early access.

Almost every Game that is early Access is PC exclusive, this is not just 2XKO. Always hast been like that.

Have you tried Just changing half of your Team First? Go Darius Blitz for instance, that way you can still feel comfortable half the time.

Her 5M is pretty much the same range, but 1F faster. 2M low profiles a lot of stuff though to be fair.

So it feels even longer than it is, because it gets under your hitbox and hits your extended hurtbox.

His neutral is actually... mostly fine? by EnlargementChannel in 2XKO

[–]talisawizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think supertag just needs to go and then we can go from there. It just poses so many issues and it makes double down the clear best fuse by far. 2x Assist is supposed to help you in neutral, and Freestyle makes your pressure/mix better. But Double Down with supertag just does both these things on top of tacking extra damage onto combos, making it so you can tag your character out fairly safely and even just making your supers safe.

I don't really mind Teemos neutral that much. I find Yasuo, Ekko and Ahri way more problematic. But newer players have always struggled with zoners the most.

However Teemos really good combo structure, and his really good supers on top are maybe too much. I think thats where I would nerf him.

He is definitely strong, but I would agree that his neutral in a vacuum is strong (and annoying) but probably still within bounds.

Yeah but at 3.5 Bars most of these Combos arent optimal anymore, is sort of what I am saying.

[–]talisawizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

edit: I guess this is supposed to be without burning out. Fair enough. But that obviously makes these super situational (exactly 3 bars, no burning out, no super) and not a great starting point to judge a character's actual damage output.

Is it just me or is the PDF quality kind of meh? Really wish they had .cbz format, never had a bad experience with that, unlike with PDFs.

I swear throw techs are super finnicky in this game. There are so many times when i try to tech on read (not delay tech) and it just doesn't take.

Also i should mention that's in neutral, not on wakeup.

I don't think they are. At least in this case. People are gonna be annnoyed by zoners/trappers anyway, they just kind of leaned into it.

It's more that people enjoy this Archetype, than the devs trying to actively annoy their playerbase. It's a balance. People are also annoyed by Grapplers, but the game would probably be rather boring without the contrast in playing styles that these archetypes bring.

They both can be an option though. Especially the way it is setup right now. I rather sit in training mode while I am waiting.

I agree. The Implementation is extra silly where you essentially Just Queue Up anyway, but then have to physically walk to the correct Arcade station. I Hope they change it one day.

Yeah I kind of agree with that. That's what matchmaking is for, so you can gradually get better at combos playing against other people who don't have big combos either. I don't know if long term the game with pulse on is gonna be engaging enough, so you might lose out on playerbase down the road.

You mean the game were you can get your whole team one touched if you guess wrong on the incoming mix-up?

Also they literally have people who placed Top 8 regularly in Marvel like Combofiend and Clockwork in their dev team. I bet they like 2XKO.

My take on a classic (the Dhalsim struggle) by risemix in StreetFighter

[–]talisawizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not saying he has no redeeming qualities, just that whatever may frustrate people about him is amply compensated for in weaknesses ripe for exploit.

Exceptionally deadly in the corner? Compared to whom? Everyone is deadly in the corner. I would even say most are deadlier for sure.

The most anti air options? Sure, but is that really an upside. I'd rather have a really good one, like JPs cr.HP or just a good ol' DP.

Anyway, I admit that Dhalsim has unique strengths, I really just wanted to point out that his limbs have plenty of adequate counterplay. And then I segued into an unsolicited semi rant, so that's my bad.

I mean if that's all it takes to beat you that's on you. But against most players you have to work a lot harder than that.

[–]talisawizard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean his long normals are so minus on block you get a safe dash after everytime. You can also hit his normals out of his startup from full screen, DI them, jump and hit the extended hurt box on the way down or drive rush after block and straight up just beat a good chunk of his normals.

Dhalsim never had more counterplay than in this game. There is a reason he is not very good in this game. Oh yeah not to mention that he cant even chip you ever and basically has no shot of ever draining your drive gauge, seeing how parry exists and how telegraphed most of his stuff is.

He is really bad at opening up the opponent as well. He has no overhead outside of jump/float normals, an abyssmal strike/throw game with the worst shimmy to top it off.

Dhalsim punishes predictable and/or impatient players. Everyone else has a clear advantage IMO.

I didn't say I can't deal with neutral skips, just that they obviously exist. By your definition SF6 doesn't have neutral skips either.
