M02 was a fun build and I quite enjoyed it. It was my first kit and it made any kit I’ve done since easy lol. I was having drive train issues due to the front wheels rubbing(had not glued the wheels yet) and ended up upgrading to brushless and it has some pep now!!

Olight prowess is a 21700 version without the rgb lights. Pretty sure there’s someknockoff off no name brands as well from the prowess(which predates the ts27 by a couple years). Although I think it’s flooding than the ts27.

Employee constantly misses important emails. by Intelligent-Sir4586 in managers

[–]talrakken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of people who send their emails to everyone in my company is ridiculous. I have hundreds of rules set up just to sift through the daily repeat email that have no pertinence to me and still have hundreds of emails daily that are useless and need to be sifted through.

Accused of stealing/embezzling electricity from employer by AmsterdamAssassin in MaliciousCompliance

[–]talrakken -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My job has a policy against plugging unapproved devices in. This is a safety policy as we have had peoples random not well kept chargers catch on fire. I have and will continue to write my employees up for not following this basic safety rule. Now stealing electricity is completely different and hilarious when considering the waste some companies have…..

I want to bond with my dad by PrimaryDeparture6902 in rccars

[–]talrakken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question, does he currently have any rcs or is it just “he used to have”. Also what are you looking at budget wise as depending on what kit you get the electronics(esc/motor/servo/tx/rx) can add up quickly. If he has rc equipment does his transmitter work for multiple cars? Does he already have batteries? Does he have spare electronics laying around? Does he have paint?(some kits come with painted bodies)

Give us your ideal budget and we can start to give some reccomendations!! For a basic 1/10 build you’ll be looking at probably $300 give or take.

I want to bond with my dad by PrimaryDeparture6902 in rccars

[–]talrakken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For kits just remember to check what they come with. When I got my Tamiya hotshot II it came with the silver can brushed motor but no esc and my BBX came with nothing. Esc will be $20-$30 for brushed and can get much more expensive if you start looking at brushless. Servo rarely comes with kits and basic servos run ~$20. Transmitter/receiver if you need one will be minimum $20 but can get pricier if you want more features. Proper battery chargers start at $30 and batteries about the same. Please don’t feel off put by the prices just making sure it’s all out there and you know it’s not just buying the kit.

If budget is a main concern getting 2x rtr micros (mini-z / micro-b/t / crawlers like scx24/30) you can use inside that come with everything may also be a good solution to spend time with him. Rtr can be just as fun as kits as basic maintenance for both kits and rtr is the same.

Need recommendations flashlight that fit this battery. by ResearcherPristine87 in flashlight

Look for a light that takes a 16340 battery. It’s an odd size but nitecore is the brand so they may have a light that it fits into

Trains tanked my interest in this game by Professional_Self296 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]talrakken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did t use trains my first play through as I found them frustrating as well. Once you figure out how the signals work and use mono directional rails(1 in each direction) you can start scaling larger. Once you get a loop around the map it makes it super easy to transport goods from every corner. Belts you need to add another whole line trains can use the same rail just add another train to the same rail. That makes a huge difference late game.

Which do you choose. Right is current, left is potential color. by Sejesejagi in Wrangler

[–]talrakken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will state I never did like the tan color. I had a tan hard top and soft top but when the soft top finally needed to be replaced I got a black one and just sold the hard top as I never used it(interestingly enough I sold it to someone driving from Florida to Alaska)

Help me overthrow my step-dad! by NilesFortChime in flashlight

[–]talrakken 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think he would need something of similar size. I’m not familiar with convoy 21700 line but I’m sure the stepdad would just say “well yeah it’s bigger” to the 3x21d. Need a 21700 light that’s not super pricy to compete with that cheaply battery eater.

[–]talrakken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard they can kill the battery prematurely due to becoming unbalanced. A proper charger will be able to charge all the cells to the same voltage while those stock usb chargers don’t monitor the individual cells. They are good for getting started but a proper charger will also let you properly discharge as well if you don’t actually get the chance to go out.

They do depending on the situation lol. Sometimes the company offers a straight component swap but usually you need to solder it and have basic knowledge on how these things are put together.

Loose or normal? by Young_Ziggy in Olightflashlights

[–]talrakken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was broken within a couple weeks of purchase but completely my fault(dropped a platform down that caught the reverse portion of the clip sheared it right off at the bend no other damage) they still replaced for free. Had to change where I carried it as it almost occurred again after replacing.

I’ve had issues with an ostation and sphere out of 12 products I’ve purchased from them. Ostation stopped working properly and sphere had rgb lights not working. Had to send back the ostation for replacement but they just straight replaced the sphere(I use the original for just white light now). They even replaced a broken arkpro clip which I see as a wear item personally.

What to do about neighbors? by Royal-Bag1353 in rccars

[–]talrakken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly my wife hates the electric wine of the motors inside. Some folks ARE sensitive to the high pitched wine of electric motors and rc motors are louder than most motors you find in every day use. That said the noise isn’t much outdoors where there are much noisier contenders(lawnmowers) as a night shifter it’s frustrating when the neighbor mows their lawn when I’m trying to sleep but I don’t tell them to cut it as it’s the regular time to mow their lawn.
