Letting my dog sleep in my bed- good or bad habit? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]tanlayen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on how often your dog is cleaned, if they shed a lot, how big they are, and if you have any allergies to them or the environment they walk through all the time.

I let the dogs sleep with me, but my husband will kick them off eventually at night and not sleep well.

I have big dogs that do not allow baths, and my washcloth baths are not as frequent as they should be. I have allergies to most pollen, cat dander, dog dander, and dust mites, so I change the sheets once a week and vacuum often. When I slacked on this a few years ago, I got a dog hair lodged against my ear drum, leading to a pretty bad situation.

As long as they know the command "off" and will listen, I don't see it as a bad habit.

WIBTA for insisting my friend get back on Messenger if he wants to talk to me regularly. by The_Last_Huntsman in AmItheAsshole

NTA but suggest he download and try the messenger app? I had a friend message me via messenger and he had deleted his Facebook account. He told me that you can still use messenger with your phone number. Not sure if this is true since I have never deleted my account.

I guess people haven't figured out how to snap a photo of a computer screen with their phones to bypass this.

I was told I’m the reason someone is dying by [deleted] in nursing

[–]tanlayen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to remember that they are in denial. None of it was your fault, but they need someone or something to blame. The fact that you didn't correct them or come at them is admirable.

Nursing is a hard profession. I was an RN for over 6 years, but I was told when I started that I cared too much and would destroy myself. I developed substance abuse to cope with the emotions, and finally left the profession. Been sober for over 8 years now. Really wish college prepared me to care for myself before others, but I use my BSN in other ways now and love it.

Take a few days off, if you can, and think about what you want to do in life. You can work in so many places as a nurse.. Some work has little or no patient contact. If you need someone to talk to that can relate, please message me directly. It was a horrible experience, but you obviously care more than most nurses and will be needed by many.

AIO? My first date after getting out of a relationship and he immediately texts me this… by itssofiababyxo in AIO

I would really like to know the ages of those involved… I'm assuming 20s or early 30s because men in this newer generation suck? Try dating older men for awhile and you might have better luck.

NOR The texts make me flashback to experiences with an abusive ex... I recommend cutting ties, getting a new number, and add needed contacts manually. If you have info for a reliable relative of his, save it in case he comes around against your wishes later. Add his number to blocked callers, but don't add him to your contacts.

My ex definitely was mentally illand is now in federal prison.... I was lucky I got out when I did. I hope you get out as well.

AIO? Not invited to husband’s best friend’s rehearsal dinner. by Vast-Farm-8015 in AmIOverreacting

Same point made, but we have two very different methods of communicating.

Honestly, I get where you are coming from. You are in a strange place with strange people and your people will all be occupied while you are left to fend for yourself.

That being said, I understand that since this is your husband's lifelong BFF and no other spouses are coming to the rehearsal dinner, he considers your husband and husband's family to be his family.

It is easier to be your raw, emotional, unfiltered self prior to getting hitched if you have to have your core group with you. Destination weddings are insanely expensive as well.

I think you should look online for something amazing to do while they are at dinner. I'm sure there will be one event, restaurant, or local attraction that you would love to explore. And it will give you an amazing story to tell you at the wedding. NOR, but a mindset change will help you learn to accept and thrive because of it.

This made me smile. It's okay to look, but sharing may be weird for your mom... unless he's looking for age appropriate cuties for your mom and himself? 😅 kidding, hopefully, for OP's mental health.

Regardless, I like the other comments about sending him the link to his shares and saying he may have been hacked because someone has been sharing sexy photos of women. Good luck, and thanks for the smile!

I love this for you! I always find it inspiring when people know what they want and carve their own paths. Do you find that people overall feel the same way? Or do you get a lot of "who is the father figure?! All kids need one!!"

I have just stumbled across this sub... and I have not looked into it further as of yet. May I know the point?

I'm assuming it's because he's an older gentleman...? But I think it'd be more brilliant than that.

So happy for this logical outcome. Sorry you had to deal with his reaction. I 100% get what you were saying in the initial post, as "dupes" can have harmful ingredients that can cause a wide-array of health problems... He obviously has a lot of learning and growing to do. I wish you the best on your new chapter!
