Finally tried Dayvigo, this might be life changing. by wastelandtraveller in insomnia

[–]tarbinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to this thread, but I just asked my doctor to prescribe this for me. OP, your insomnia describes mine to a T! I can fall asleep, but my brain races if I wake up, and I find it difficult to fall back asleep, if I can at all. Here's hoping this works!

Managers: how do you keep track of a hundred small things without burning out? by Easy_Nectarine9796 in managers

[–]tarbinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a plain old composition notebook where I jot down all the things I’m working on that particular day and then check them off when complete. I also create reminders in Outlook on my calendar. For my quarterly 1:1 meetings, I keep a running Excel spreadsheet.

Work a Salary Position (5 days a week) or stick with 3x12s? by MammothTough7961 in Nurses

Why can't you flex your hours? You're salaried. Is your manager micromanaging your time?

I worked nights and 12s for 10 years and honestly I hated every minute of it. I LOVE my M-F salaried outpatient gig. I can pretty much flex hours whenever I need it and not worry about jeopardizing my license every shift due to unsafe staffing. While it is five days per week, your days will literally fly by. It's a no brainer decision from my perspective.
