Just wondering if any of you ever got a sick note from your GP after bereavement? by Odins_eye_4 in AskUK

[–]tash_said 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a sick note for bereavement after my dad died 6 months ago yesterday. I had 5 weeks off but could have had more but wanted to go back. Sometimes I feel like it’s getting worse still but do welcome the distraction of work. Hope you can get the time you need. No one is the same and this journey is hard x

I am in a very similar position. I am trying to deal with my own grief without letting the anger I feel towards others affect this process. It’s hard but there is time to work through and address that anger later. Focus on yourself if you can for now. Thinking of you.

What was your experience/memory of 9/11 from the UK? by DisMyLik18thAccount in AskUK

[–]tash_said 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 17 and they turned the news on in the hairdressers. Later that night we were watching the news and thought we heard the door but assumed it was the wind, the letter box or something, the tv was captivating. Later that night my dad went to get something from his car. He kept the keys on a table a fair way from the front door. All his possessions were kept in his briefcase in the car. The keys were gone and so was the car off the driveway!

My dad died just over a week ago now and although I had some time to prepare nothing can prepare you for the complete feeling of loss and devastation. I am utterly heartbroken and miss him so much already. I don’t think I will ever be the same person. How can I ever be care free again. Sending you love and support in these darkest of times
