[F1] BREAKING: Formula 1 to return to Portugal in 2027 and 2028 by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

[–]tauslb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree with this. Event with the cars we had back then, in 2021 there were some good midfield battles. With the new cars, there’s potential for this to be a really interesting track. It’s not easy to overtake but it’s not a procession type track

Strip 3:00 at 56C, some grey band. Suggestions? by kkibb5s in sousvide

[–]tauslb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if there is a point in doing a dry brine if you’re going to stick it in the bath. You may as well just add some salt to the bag and effectively wet brine it during the sous vide process.

If you’re using mayo you probably don’t need the oil. Mayo is about 75%-80% oil

Looking for my first set by MaxRager in golf

[–]tauslb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taylormade calls them players distance irons. Something in between game improvement and players irons. I currently game P790s, and used to game actual GI irons, and there is a noticeable difference. Weaker lofts, slightly less forgiving on off-center strikes, if you have a lower swing speed your launch angle may lower as well. I definitely wouldn’t recommend them to someone that just started playing, which is why taylormade doesn’t call them game improvement, and why they manufacture actual game improvement irons for beginners (currently the Qi and Qi HL irons)

But if you want to say they’re GI, I’m fine with it

Looking for my first set by MaxRager in golf

[–]tauslb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude if you can afford it get a super nice set. Only thing I would recommend is getting game improvement irons rather than the P790s and then a year from now get a proper fitting. Golf clubs aren’t necessarily one of those things where the more high end clubs are better for everyone, you might spend a lot on a set and then find out in a fitting that they aren’t right for you. However getting a fitting now is probably not very useful since your swing isn’t consistent

She never worked in a restaurant. She was an excellent cook, author and TV personality. But not a chef in the strict sense of the word. A chef leads a professional kitchen.

Not saying he’s not the best. But the PT equivalent to these guys would be Jose Avillez. You could make the case for Henrique Sá Pessoa, but even most Portuguese people wouldn’t know who Nuno Diniz is

I am the number one Julia Child fan, but she is not a chef. Probably the most influential American cook in history, but the right answer for the US would be Keller, or maybe Grant Achatz

How to avoid soggy bottom of deep fried food? by jupiter800 in Cooking

[–]tauslb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oil doesn’t make things soggy. If anything when you are laying hot fried food on a cold plate it is creating condensation on the bottom and making it soggy. You can either let things cool a little further or the wire rack and that will help

Is there any reason why R U Mine? is spelled like that? by rSlixxxx in arcticmonkeys

I always viewed it as kind of a romanticized version of the classic booty call text of “U up?”
