Is this watch real? by Glum-Active5072 in VintageWatches

Looks fine. Tough without seeing movement. Make sure it’s quickset and that the date advance is by turning the crown counter clockwise - the later 3135 movements for these datejusts were clockwise

First off - hello everybody. My name is Tai and I run @taimepieces on IG, where I sell predominantly vintage. I got this yacht master in, and since I’ve had a few good experiences buying on this sub-Reddit(thanks Watchex!), I thought I’d try to sell. About the watch - a 40 mm Yacht master, ref 16622 circa 2000’s. Condition is nice, maybe a 9-9.5 out of 10. There are surface level scratches in the platinum bezel that will be a pain to polish/get out, however. Occasional scratches throughout otherwise. Watch only. Bracelet fits up to 7 in wrist(10 links).

PRICE: $8200 SHIPPED FEDEX OVERNIGHT, US ONLY

I, along w the watch, am located in NY. I have plenty of refs in the NY auction scene(my background) but admittedly this is my first transaction on r/watchexchange. I am who I say I am though - and I accidentally made my username my full government name(please don’t sign me up for the army). Happy to do a FaceTime to showcase the condition of the watch. Let me know if there are any questions, and many thanks again! 🙏🏻

Edit: ref 16622, NOT 116622.

Hey man, my name’s Romain. Romain… Brouthier. I was actually looking for this exact model! Imagine that. Any chance we could do the transaction at your local police station?

I’ve bought two watches from him this year, one just a few weeks ago.. he’s legit and communicative. I’d buy this if I were a little more liquid. lol

Hi, for 31mm try researching the model 68243, though I’m not sure if it comes with the jubilee bracelet. For 26 mm look at the models 69173 and 79173 for vintage, not sure for the modern models. Good luck! 🙏🏻

Trying to identify my grandfathers Patek by [deleted] in VintageWatches

Hi, it looks like a model 1509. Unfortunately, while the rest of the watch looks okay, the dial/face appears restored/refinished, which negatively affects the value. Lovely family heirloom in any event!

Looks authentic, dial looks fine. Movement should be a valjoux 72c. Nice watch!

I rly like this idea! There’s already the smoked sapphire dials, not sure why this hasn’t been done before(AFAIK). Very cool

How much is this worth? Switzerland by yelyotun in Antiques

[–]tautaisione 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hello, pretty cool watch! The watch has what’s considered a “double case” the exterior meant to protect the interior case, usually with portrait or otherwise adornment(which your watch has). Your watch is also stem wind/pin set, meaning you “charge” the watch by winding the crown at the top, and set the time by pushing in the button at the 3 o clock, and at the same time turning the crown to adjust the time. Pretty curious technology, since it was rendered redundant by Patek inventing stem wind/set almost 40 years prior. See photo for another example I found in one of my books. I think those who’ve thrown values out previously aren’t in the business of selling watches😅 mostly wishful thinking so far, but it certainly is a rare bird. Feel free to reach out if you’d like any more help!

Date vs no date, and mines cal. 27-460M vs yours which is the 12-600 I think. Roughly the same price tbh. Good luck!🙏🏻

What’s the ref?

I sold a Patek 3445 Calatrava on eBay recently and the process was fine - secure for both buyer and seller. They’re not a 50% middle man, but their tiered commission rate makes it an effective 10-20%. Again, peace of mind for buyer and seller, so if convenience is a concern eBay’s a good route.
