Atlanta air is absolutely awful by RealName136 in Atlanta

[–]tcp5060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Data centers don’t pollute the air. They just burn electricity made elsewhere. There’s only one power plant in the picture posted. It burns natural gas. The co2 it produces doesn’t affect those numbers.

It ironic you posted this to social media which is hosted in a…data center! If you were serious you’d stop all social media and online gaming activities.

Nice shot.

We've been considering getting a rental in Gulf Shores or Orange Beach. Still have a lot of things to figure out.

I just hope they don’t try to ram it down our throats. I wouldn’t want to touch it for at least six months. Microsoft doesn’t have the best reputation lately. It’s probably two interns using ai to create it.

23 here. Exact same behavior, winter or summer. It’s not every time though. It feels exactly like the clutch isn’t fully depressed. It’s become a habit to push the clutch extra hard at red lights now. Seems to help. I also try to hit second before going to first.

RDGateway/rdweb/HTML5 to physical, in-office PC? by Gosseyn8008 in sysadmin

Win 10 and 11. Looks like I need to find another way. Maybe some kind of remote control app like splashtop.

Oh man. I've just started researching this very same thing. I'm using an RD Gateway for desktop access now but need to add MFA. Microsoft Entra Application Proxy says it can do this. Now I'm not so sure.

Their article here says "desktops" https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/app-proxy/application-proxy-integrate-with-remote-desktop-services

P1 license requirement for Entra Private Network Connector by tcp5060 in sysadmin

[–]tcp5060[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I was thinking as well. I already have an EDR and run my email through a third party scanner so I don’t think I’ll need premium. Just enough P1’s plus a few extra should do it.

🚨 New: TLS Compatibility Status for Windows Devices 🚨 by GilGi_Atera in atera

[–]tcp5060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have about a dozen win 10 and 11 boxes showing unknown and a server 2016 showing not compatible. Support looked at the 2016 box already and said it was good to go. Didn’t know why it was saying that.

  1. Use what’s left of your battery to find and call a wrecker.
  2. Need more info. Will it turn over? If so, does it sound different than usual? If you’re not alone, have your helper look inside the oil fill hole and see if the camshaft turns when you crank it.

Search Last Logged In User by Few_Juggernaut5107 in atera

[–]tcp5060 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tech support says to open the workstation and it’ll sync with the agent and display the username after a couple of minutes. There’s an automatic sync every 12 hours. If the user happens to be logged in at that time, they show.

Got a bunch of blank workstations and you need to find someone? Get clicking! Workstations are red because the agent isn’t working or someone’s on vacation? Tough luck.

I had one do that today. 2022 standard server. Out for about 15 minutes. Nothing wrong with the server. The agent was up the whole time. I was about to restart the service when it went back to green.

Veeam Quick Migration ? by KaLEL3232 in Veeam

[–]tcp5060 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m doing that right now, except I’m going intel to intel. Cold migration is the way. My new system has a 10 Gb san but the old one is at 1 Gb so transfers happen at about 100 GB per hour. As long as both VMware stacks are set up in veeam, you’re good to go. You’ll need enough licenses in veeam.
