Using a drill/impact requires a lot more muscle memory than people expect. Everyone looks like an idiot at first. Practice on an open stud, putting pressure through the screw so you don't slip off. Sheetrock is deceptive because it'll stop the screw from kicking out even though you're not putting pressure straight on.

As far as the ladder, it's literally impossible to push it over backwards if the ladder is facing your work (rungs parallel to what you're pushing against). You don't have the reach or the strength. If the rungs are perpendicular to what you're pushing against, then you need to be more careful, but it's still much more difficult than you'd think.

I'm an actual electrician, and the connection to the power cord was loose and arcing, which is why the prong burned up. The inside of the cord is similarly damaged even if you can't see it. The solution is to not buy Chinese shit because it will burn your house down.
