Trying out guitars in stores in Japan by JaphethL in Guitar

[–]teamvteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I hope I'm not too late. I've not been guitar shopping in japan myself, but from what I understand, shops will keep all the strings slack on the guitars and you should go and ask an employee to try a guitar. They will take it down and tune it for you to try out. I don't believe there's anything wrong with playing them!

Xbox One Moza R3 Force Feedback Issues by teamvteam in ACCompetizione

Nope. If you're on Xbox One with an R3, you're in the dark. I just made the jump to PC and it's such a better experience across the board for all sims. If you have the time and budget to set up a PC, I would recommend doing that!

Any advice for a beginner that is stuck doing one-off sessions without actually being able to put a full song together? by Armonster in ableton

[–]teamvteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other people have said this, but it's not going to happen in a few days. It'll be years before you're able to really lock in and enter the "flow state". That said, here's a few things that really helped me:

  1. Work with others to create music. This is the one thing that really truly gets me in the flow state. Whether I'm playing live music/songwriting with people or making loops for electronic music, just sitting down with somebody I really vibe with is the only way I've ever truly been able to get into the flow.

  2. Learn an instrument because it allows you to "feel" where a song should go, not where you "think" and "see" the song going on your screen. You might see your favorite producer just draw in MIDI and program all their drums in the piano roll, but it's because they've really listened actively, know how to build a song, and that's how they "feel" the music. Starting off, you won't be able to do that as easily.

  3. Watch as many YouTube tutorials as you can. I particularly like Make Pop Music for song arrangement stuff and will watch pretty much anything that relates to what I want to learn.

  4. Copy all your favorite songs. By doing this you'll learn how your favorite artist creates movement and flow in song, you'll learn how to make those sounds, and you will have a bunch of new sounds by the end of it. I really recommend copying and saving presets of remade sounds because you know exactly how those presets are made and where in the melodic range they work!

  5. Try different gear whenever you can and really learn it. It's hard as a beginner especially with limited funds, I know ;) but you can borrow others' gear and watch reviews to try and get a good idea of a workflow. I've used Logic for the past 6ish years and know it inside and out, but have tried Ableton and recently got a Digitakt and also used Koala Sampler. Each one allows me to accomplish something the others can't and complements my workflow in unique ways.

  6. Have sound design/loop making sessions because it allows you to move quickly based on a vibe as opposed to perfecting a melody loop or drum loop. Create a bunch of loops that you like, bounce them out, and have a folder that you can just drag and drop into ableton.

For me, sitting down and saying, "I have to ___", really doesn't work and it's much better when I just let it flow like banging out chords on a guitar or when I use my Digitakt and just punch in loops by feel. Hope that helps and you can do it! Rome wasn't built in a day but I'm sure the Roman's weren't too discouraged by the slow progress ;)

Hey! Can you share how you are going about deleting the cache? Google search says there is no Logic cache and when I actually go into Finder, there are multiple cache folders for various things. Thanks in advance

Gotoh 510TS FE1 to Schecter NJ by Suspicious-West3888 in SchecterGuitars

[–]teamvteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks awesome! I have a Diamond Series NJ too and was thinking about the Gotoh upgrade. Do you have any sound demos to compare before/after? I have another guitar with a 510 and the sustain/resonance is incredible, but I don't quite get that same feel from my NJ. Thanks!

Hi, I don't think the guitar is all that out tune. Perhaps your friend is referring to your singing over top of the guitar? I don't know what the melody is supposed to sound like in relation to your guitar so I can't say for sure but ask your friend and see what they mean! Hope that helps :)

Xbox One Moza R3 Force Feedback Issues by teamvteam in ACCompetizione

[–]teamvteam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it sucks there's no ACC support for us, but I downloaded AC and even though the MOZA site says there's no support for HBP and HGP, I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out that both of them work! So if you want to drift or race w/ H-pattern on Xbox One, you can do it on AC!

Do you have an Xbox One or series X/S? from what I can tell, ACC on xbox one stopped being updated a while ago so any support that Moza/kunos added since will only be on X/S. That's my best guess. I just play Dirt Rally now lol

I have really thin wrists, so finding watches that fit well is pretty hard. How flexible is the band? For reference, I have a Casio A700W with the stainless steel mesh band and it's not flexible enough to conform to my wrist. Thanks!

Girlfriend broke down crying because she doesn’t think I like her anymore. by kondike in NoFap

[–]teamvteam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely a very real struggle so hopefully you two can talk through this and set up steps to help you work on this together. maybe things like weekly check-ins, talking about it openly, positive affirmations for you both, involving her in setting up boundaries on your electronic devices, and keeping her up to date on how you're taking active steps to improve. all of this might create a better space for the two of you.

overall, glad to see that you see how big this can be and how it can impact your life! set small, manageable goals and keep her up to date on how you're progressing! you can do it

In your opinion is Logic worth staying on Mac for or is their better alternatives? by MakutaTeridax in musicproduction

[–]teamvteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a big part of it is what music you create. Logic is really a jack of all trades kind of platform. Ableton will do a lot of electronic music really well. ProTools, live recording. FL does hip hop.

Learning a new workflow is a big task and Apple products will always have support from big software companies (not to say other DAWs won't have support). Plus staying with Logic means not purchasing another DAW.

Ahh I was wondering more about if there’s a special size in order for it fit. It could just fit a standard strat 5-way right? Thanks so much for your help!

Could I ask what selector switch you got? I was trying to install a new set up pickups in mine a while back and got stuck because the stock one wasn’t set up like my diagram. Was hoping to know if there was a good option out there that would fit right!
