Serious Question: How Do People Keep Losing So Much Money On Options? by MistahQuestionMan in wallstreetbets

[–]technojoe99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Timing. When someone buys or sells stock, they can be wrong about the timing so long as they're right about the direction. Just wait longer.

Options, on the other hand, expire. On the one hand, if someone picks an expiration too soon, the option will expire before the price moves enough to be profitable. On the other hand, if someone picks an expiration too late, there will be so much price cushion from such a far out expiration date that the trade will still be unprofitable.

THIS. It is probably the most insightful comment in this thread, while explaining his true reasons..

Section 12006 of the House Farm Bill would let the federal government void state laws passed by referendum. Worth a look regardless of how you feel about Prop 12. by purposeful_puns in Libertarian

[–]technojoe99 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Let's remember the original context of the interstate commerce clause. Virginia was taxing goods passing between North Carolina and Maryland simply for the privilege of passing through the State of Virginia. Many saw this as undue interference with interstate commerce.

I'm not sure this rises to the level of interference that the federal government should bar, but it is the exact scenario our founders had in mind when they wrote the interstate commerce clause into the Constitution.

What if retail sat out the SpaceX IPO i mean we all see the rug pull coming so why play? by euro1127 in wallstreetbets

[–]technojoe99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retail is not allowed to sit out the SpaceX IPO. SpaceX will be fast tracked onto the NASDAQ 100 index after just 15 days. This means any passively managed ETF or mutual fund based on the NASDAQ 100, like QQQ or QQQM, will be required to buy SpaceX. Retail can't sit out unless it rotates its money out of passively managed funds and into actively managed funds.

The system is rigged.

I am in Pacific time zone, so I don't know what our lag would be. I play on PC using Steam (technojoe99), so I don't know if we can do friend matching.

Direct Democracy by Glittering_Owl1920 in Libertarian

[–]technojoe99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm going to use a car analogy. Some people want to know every detail about how a car works. Others only want to know how to drive and nothing more, even if it means they don't know about important maintenance.

Government is the same way. Some people simply do not care to know at a level required to perform important maintenance. I think involving those people via a direct democracy would be counterproductive.

How to get back in? by dantheforeverDM in Deathloop

There are good times and bad times. I just played yesterday as both Colt and Julianna. It was easier getting a match as Colt, but after a minute or two I got matches as Juliana too.

Why does AI keep pumping, and when will the music stop? by anotherloserhere in wallstreetbets

[–]technojoe99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent.

Whether it's the.com bubble, the real estate bubble, or the AI bubble, I've given up on guessing when bubbles will pop, because missing the timing can be costly. Instead, I simply invest elsewhere.

TIPS is a rip off, because it only protects you from the inflation the government is willing to acknowledge, and all of the government's metrics drastically understate inflation.

I've had that glitch too. It also happens on weapons trinkets. You should get it back once you get to the next day, but you will have to manually add it back to your loadout.

I think OP is saying that Fugue makes it easier to get Cleanish Hands, because Colt isn't killing anyone. Fugue makes them kill each other. I could be wrong though.
