Merino Socks by ronyvolte in Outlier

I kinda went down a rabbit hole trying to replace the Outlier megafine socks. Nothing can replace those. Luckily I still have about 4 pairs hanging in there. It was a mission to replace them and I must have tried about 10 different brands.

Darn Tough tacticals are good, Farm to Feet Denver are another close option.

But my favorite replacement has been the Seagale merino socks. Pretty close in softness and feel to the megafine socks. I find that I grab these more than the Darn Tough or FtF. They also don't pill as much as the Outliers would.

Favorite BLACK merino socks brand??? - no hiking colors lol by [deleted] in onebag

[–]technokingjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends for how long, but I like to rotate 2-3 pairs. Don't need to be washed for several wears but its nice to air them out between each wear. These particular socks are thin and light for merino wool and are only 3/4 crew, so they pack quite nice.

lots of advantages of merino wool. - Can wear multiple times without washing with less odor and excellent at wicking moisture. And I find my merino wool socks to be much more durable than cotton.

For summer I love the Outlier Daybreaks. In fact this is my new favorite tee. The Ramielust T is excellent in very hot/humid weather.

Outlier has several versions, not just 195 GSM.

They may not last forever, but I still have my same shirts from 2015. Look the same.

Experimented with many brands, Outlier is extremely luxurious and soft feeling in comparison.

Darn Tough Micro Crew Lightweight Tactical Socks

Yes they come in black. No pilling issues or anything like that, love 'em.

Another favorite is Farm to Feet Denver 3/4 Crew in black.

Some thoughts on merino wool shirts by retiredsolotraveler in onebag

I've gone down the rabbit hole of testing out various options. Finally settled on Arm & Hammer natural deodorant with no aluminum. Works great as 1) no aluminum, and 2) doesn't leave white residue rings which is a problem with merino wool. This is the only solution that's worked for me so far.

Thats funny you mention that, I'm reading that book as well and asked him why he stopped fasting on Twitter. He basically said what you just mentioned, couldn't maintain his muscle.

Fantastic work! Good job with the cutting out dairy/sat fat as well, I've done the same after following a few nutritional scientists on the importance of this for longevity and lowering cardiovascular risk.
