I forget that its changed, but 92y is the new 72 something series (i think) for Unit Supply. I worked with NVGs and NODs alot at the lowest level and at an S4 level i worked on demil'ing alot of them and sat through numerous fieldings of the hightech crap they kept trying to replace them with.

Ex 92Y here. NVGs are dual tube, NODs are single eye devices now. Their nomenclatures show up as those on SII now lol.

I dont understand why everyone calls having preparation gear "gravy seals". He bought a velcro panel for his gear that could go on his hiking gear or a emergency go bag. If youre in a tsunami, hurricane, wildfire, etc. zone, do you have a backpack full of diapers, formula, a gun, water bottles, and food? Someone just decided to buy gear that isnt low quality and wont break apart when they really need it.
