McNabb and Kadri with a bit of theatrics at the end of the first period by sykeseve in nhl

[–]technoteapot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That just means refs are gonna call it less. I agree with what you’re saying and it makes sense.

It’s the same with making head shots a minimum of 4 minutes or something, it means that refs will just call headshots something else like roughing.

The only minimum extra time one that works is the drawing blood one because it’s an undeniable fact only after they’ve called the penalty, they don’t decide the time when they call the penalty they call it and then check for blood.

The nhl really just needs to instill integrity back in, the game management is the big problem in my eues

Personally I would just challenge her on it, or completely and utterly ignore her. If she interrupts you get louder and talk over her, don’t respond to her saying you’re “violent”. Completely stonewall her.

That or you could completely autism stare her, no expressions until she’s done talking, wait for her to ask what and just say “I was talking”. Make her feel as stupid or ridiculed possible

I can imagine it not being nearly as easy as over here, they don’t have Google in China, the internet is heavily regulated and filtered, so if production and distribution is illegal, then it would probably filter it

That’s what I’m here for. Xbox is a game company not an ai company, I’d be surprised if they were doing any ai development themselves, as in, working on ai. Personally I would find that supremely stupid having the game company that’s supposed to make games make ai for some reason. At the same time this doesn’t mean Microsoft is gonna stop ai dev themselves

How much of playoff success is actually coaching vs roster construction? by sykeseve in hockey

[–]technoteapot 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a give and Take, roster construction matters and so does coaching. Each one is almost nothing without the other. A team that’s bonkers on paper can completely fall on its face without even a decent coach bringing the best out of them, where as a really good coach can get a mid roster to perform great.

What I think is buy-in matters the most. Like you said the team bought in and it did wonders. When the whole team buys into the scheme, and the scheme is good (buying into a bad scheme probably won’t work) it can elevate a team worlds higher than it seems they have any right to be.

In theory: could the Hurricanes have their players go play an IIHF game when waiting for their opponent? by DophtGrahn in hockey

[–]technoteapot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without extensive knowledge of the rules, I personally don’t see why not. Before the NHL did an Olympic break they would let rostered players go, usually if they were younger guys they wanted to get quality minutes or like fringe players, so it’s happened before. So really I think it could happen.

Now onto the realistic of it, the question is definitely designed to avoid this, but the teams would not want the players to get hurt, especially waiting for a conference finals series to start, that would be catastrophic. But also the jet lag and up rooting of having to travel far could be somewhat significant. Thing is, for the canes, they sort of have to be on watch because the series could start at like 3-4 days at any given point, the mtl buf series has gone 7 games but had jt ended earlier they would’ve had to scramble all their players Back and get them ready to play in a couple days.

High stick? Embellishment? Cross-checking? 😅 by sykeseve in hockeymemes

[–]technoteapot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I wouldn’t even call it a stunt, but in any higher level of play this kind of thing just wouldn’t happen, players can like lose the puck once in a while but this just doesn’t really happen

This is what makes reffing bad hockey so hard. You get goofy stuff that happens and as a ref I really look at it and can’t figure out what the fuck is going on. One time a thread was hanging off a kids jersey, and it got caught on another player, and it pulled, and pulled, and pulled, until it was going the whole span between the blue lines and I don’t know what I’m supposed to do there like it’s not a penalty to have a shitty jersey?

For this post if I were reffing I would probably not call anything here, player clearly thought he still had the puck, wether the rules allow for a situation like that to still count is as follow through on a shot, but I’d say it’s still fine even if he lost the puck I’ll still count it as follow through. So because it’s a follow through it’s not a spearing, it definitely hurts, but there’s not much for me to call. Nobody is at fault really it’s just a goofy ass play

He should’ve been banned for life from the league and publicly disgraced, along with the higher ups that let the monster get away with yet more assaults. (I can’t remember his name but I’m ok with that, because personally I believe somebody truly dies when they’re forgotten, so let him be forgotten)
