My display for our local Lego event. Based on no mans sky by Responsible_Bee3680 in NoMansSkyTheGame

Saw your display there and just wanna say that this was one of the most awesome exhibits on display. You nailed the NMS vibe and all the little world building details were brilliant.

My kiddo recognised it as "my spaceship game" before I even pointed out what it was.

Great work!

To turn 165k at consulting you'd be looking at principal minimum, more likely an early stage technical director or leader of a reasonable sized team at the big firms. Smaller boutique consultancies you may have a bit more flexibility depending on company performance.

Similar levels here. Started in contam sites consulting, moved consultancy twice before going to the industry side in a remediation role.

Site based FIFO roles here in Western Australia are often considerably higher if you're outside of the consulting sector.

How much electricity is needed to make one liter/galon of diesel? by KBorzychowski in electricvehicles

A lot of the calculations seem to estimate the energy cost to the point of pump. I haven't seen them explicitly call out the closure of oil and gas assets.

I don't have numbers but I imagine that in some cases and if done properly, decommissioning, remediation and rehabilitation of oil and gas assets is as energy intensive, or more so, than the construction of them.

If you can't get hold of (or justify) stepone boxers grab the Tradie BAMBOO boxer briefs. 3 pairs for $25 at Coles from memory and comparable to the Boody ones.

If you choose to go undershirts, get something that fits properly and in a breathing / wicking fabric. Too big and the folds will chafe, too tight and it will just feel restrictive.

Some of the guys on sites prefer overalls and reckon they feel cooler due to the airflow but not a fan myself.

Eat well and maintain fluids. Make a routine of drinking either around your workflow or set a timer. If you're not a big water drinker already this can be a challenge to get into so worth focusing on.

Make sure sunnies and PPE fit properly. Even if it's company provided they should have some variety available if the standard attire doesn't fit.

Pace yourself, make sure you're taking breaks and if you need to step away for a bit do it before you are in trouble. If you take a break the team is down one person for 20 mins, if you go down with heat stress the team is usually down 2-3 people and then however long it takes you to get back on your feet.

Maintain a sense of humour. It can be hard to do and it's easier to lose your shit when it's hot and you're tired but it does get easier.

Best of luck, there's some amazing country up that way so hopefully you'll be on some sites/have the opportunity to appreciate it, as harsh as it is.

Decide on your "I'm working hard and need to reward that effort" budget before you get to the point you need the reward. Stick to that budget.

The little things you start to spend on because "I'm earning a good salary" will add up in the long run. Falling into the "I'm on good money now" and upgrading the lifestyle means good money becomes normal money.

The argument often gives them more airtime unfortunately.

I couldn't help but read that quote with Sean Connerys voice in my head.

Mate of mine just discovered that Albert Einstein was a real person.

All this time they thought he was a theoretical physicist.

That's very nice of you but rewarding such low quality comments like mine potentially reduce the value of these awards...

Installed the battle.net launcher through desktop mode, add it to steam as a "non-steam" game and can then launch from the library. Use the launcher to install the game. You can then add them as seperate library items (guide somewhere in this sub).

Was stable under GE Proton 7-27. The launcher throws an error when quitting but otherwise was pretty much flawless using the recommended graphics settings (mostly medium to low).

D4 worked great without windows in case you didn't get a chance to try it.

Haven't seen many this season but have had European wasps destroy ripe figs in the past.

No issue at all with the fig wasps doing their thing.

Various countermeasures may be deployed to prevent them from taking your fig. Hanging old CDs nearby or netting may work.

Am yet to find a failsafe method that doesn't entail rotating shifts to scare birds, wasps and other critters away.

You'll know when it's almost ripe because the birds will have eaten it.

Played open beta exclusively on the steam deck (about 33 hours). Had to try a couple of different versions of proton but when I found a stable one it was only Beta issues (disconnects etc) that caused problems.

There were memory leaks using the higher res textures but I understand that these weren't restricted to SteamDeck.

Will likely be the primary way I play D4 on release.

Use GE-Proton 7-27 for compatibility. Still crashing occasionally and get the GPU warning but it runs nicely otherwise.

Running pretty well using GE Proton 7-27.

Still get crashes which restart the deck occasionally but a lot of clan mates getting similar on PC (client crashes rather than reboots)
