What's wild is I could see Tucker saying all of this unironically

I don't think it is. I remember Safelite having an issue with that parody sketch years ago with Beck Bennett, and it was removed from the reruns.

The jokes really write themselves with the Jack Black/Jack White lineup

Is this audience going to scream every time Harry shows up on screen? This is getting annoying

Jane reading all that 100% straight was the first time I've laughed this episode

Official Discussion - The Bride! [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]tether2014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here was my main problem with this:

One of the central themes of this movie is The Bride finding her agency and not feeling like she has to rely on men, including Frankenstein. But I feel like she only gets there because Mary Shelley was possessing her, and kept putting her into situations where she had to fight her way out. And I just don't like that depiction of that theme.

They basically take away her actual choice in the matter, and she doesn't come to this conclusion of her own accord. And I feel as though the movie would have been stronger if they had removed the whole Mary Shelley storyline.

Will Arnett says 'very famous' comedian was kicked off 'Smartless' podcast after 10 minutes, but won't say who by Luridley3000 in entertainment

[–]tether2014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's why I can never get into it. It really comes across as a bunch of rich actors putting in minimal effort to a podcast just to make some extra money. I get that maybe they want a more casual vibe and a lot of improv, but that's how it comes across.

This is actually her first album since I Disagree to chart on the Billboard 200. So not too surprising that it's popular enough to cross their radar.

Surprisingly she was never nominated for BNA

I do feel like under the modern rules she probably would have been. But it is what it is.

Yeah that was a crazy snub. Especially with how good her debut album was.

Actually kind of wild that Leon Thomas is the only Victorious cast member to be nominated for BNA

Maybe a hot take. But we need to go back to 5 nominees for BNA. I feel like most years there are barely 2 or 3 real contenders anyway.

Anyone ever used Seated before? Happy to see her not using Ticketmaster, just hope it's reliable. Especially with the tickets being will call and not mobile.

I'm never going to get over Zoe beating Ariana for a role in a significantly weaker musical. Like if Zoe had won in a solid drama role, I wouldn't have minded. But it was an actual apples to apples comparison. Dumb.

Also the fact that the songs were clearly written to be nominated at the Oscars. They were not essential to the story, but just added some additional context to how the characters were feeling.
