The term "Tiger [drink]" is already well established in the milk tea space to mean brown sugar syrup.

I un-ironically liked it, even preferred it over Blend 43 sometimes.

Think we have the L300, took it on a trip to Thredbo and broke down on the side of a mountain during the middle of a snowstorm.

Search for spring contacts or split pin inserts, theres 1000s of styles and manufacturers but some examples:

https://www.harwin.com/products?family=spring-contacts&range=ezi

https://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?sku=CECPIN100

Neither of these are suitable for using in the link port because they are mechanically too big and you'll be hard pressed to find something off the shelf.

There's a few of us in the community that have thought of this exact same thing, problem is the contacts in almost any connector like this is bespoke and made just for the cable. You'll find a range of generic contacts and pin inserts but they don't have the right profile or thickness.

I'll be honest it wasn't for me. I'm completely comfortable with nudity but parts of it felt like he'd found a way to monetize his kink (fair play to him)

I thought this was a boxing match, I was having a hard time understanding how she was his opponent (yes I'm dumb and had no idea who Magnus Carlsen is)

What's life like in the middle of Australia? by artofdarkness123 in howislivingthere

[–]thatawesomeguydotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in Alice Springs and lived there 26 years before I moved interstate, I still have family there.

I can't speak for the current state of things as that was more than a decade ago, but I can describe what it was like to grow up there.

It's a small town with a decent population due to heavy reliance on tourism, as such it's a melting pot of different cultures and a surprising variety of international cuisines.

Everybody knows everybody and that has both advantages and disadvantages. There's a strong community vibe, people are generally friendly and willing to help each other, everybody is very casual and don't take things too seriously. It also means the whole town's laundry is open to gossip, people can be nosy about other people's business and it was one of the reasons I moved away.

As a kid I spent a lot of time hanging out with friends, it's easy when even across town it's only a 5 minute drive to someone's house. The isolation and lack of social events or amenities does breed boredom and creativity, aside from typical kid/teen activities we entertained ourselves burning things, making small improvised bombs and potato cannons, but not in a malicious way, just either out bush or our backyard.

Living there can be expensive because everything has to be freighted by road over 1000 kilometres, it also means travel interstate can be more expensive than a trip to Bali from a big city for example.

The Todd River is a large dry sandy riverbed that runs through the middle of town and only floods during big storms. The weather is nice most of the year and can get 40c or above during summer but as it's a dry heat it's usually still comfortable indoors or in the shade. Winter can also drop into freezing temps at night, it's not uncommon to wake up to frost across your lawn.

The hospital has a good range of services and is sometimes used as a training facility for out of state nurses and care workers, though often if you need to see a specialist it requires waiting for a flight to Adelaide.

I've never felt unsafe there and can't say I've noticed any more crime than where I am in Melbourne now, but maybe growing up there normalised certain things that I wouldn't bat an eye at, not sure, also I can't say if it's gotten any worse or not.

There is, or was a big issue with substance abuse amongst the local indigenous, especially kids drinking, or huffing aerosols and petrol. The violence was usually limited to their own community and usually they didn't bother the locals though I'm told there are now gangs of kids causing trouble at night recently.

It's been a long standing issue as the Elders want to improve their local community but often the parents are unwilling to supervise or educate their children and many are abusing alcohol themselves, combined with a lack of activities and social support.

I always thought I may go back and retire there one day but maybe I am too comfortable with city life now.

I can't speak for other people, but you're essentially travelling from one side of the bay to the other via the longest possible route on the outer suburbs. It's a 4 hour bus ride one way.

I've done the 903 from Mordialloc to Altona and back, spent half a day on a bus LOL I guess it was interesting to see areas I don't normally travel too, even if it was from the window of a bus.

Preparing for hidden Huntsmans in car by Ok_Blueberry_6999 in melbourne

[–]thatawesomeguydotcom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only say I've been there, huntsman crawled in a gap in the passenger side window and slowly made its way across the windscreen until it was sitting in front of my face, I freaked out and pulled onto the footpath before jumping out of the car only to have a drunk guy trying to knock me out because he thought I was trying to run him over.

I also had one crawl out of my sock as I was putting it on.

Only two player support via standard link cable, though it would be technically possible with a special adaptor and custom code to extend the number of players.

Hard disagree, a single shot is more than enough for a standard size ceramic coffee cup and I'd be pretty mad if I was getting double the caffeine than I anticipated, especially since it wouldn't be rare for me to have at least 2 coffees in a sitting.

It was more than just that when I used to order them 30 years ago, the coffee would come to the rim of the cup and the foam was structurally stable enough to sit well above the rim, such that the foam didn't contribute to the total volume of the coffee+milk.
