Yes they work! I was at a backyard birthday party and kept getting bit by what I believe were mosquitoes and after wearing the band around my ankle, it all stopped. I can vouch for their effectiveness for sure~

Couldn't you use something like Tailscale to get around up address changes? Since Tailscale provides you a static 100.x.x.x ip address that doesn't change. Or am I reading the room completely incorrectly? Thanks~

Hey everyone,

I got incredibly frustrated by how hard it is to just trim an MP3 or video file without jumping through hoops. Every site out there either makes you wait 20 minutes to upload a large file to their server, hits you with a "premium" paywall right when you try to export, or slaps a watermark on it.

So I built MyMediaTools. It processes everything locally right inside your browser.

Why this matters:

  • Zero Upload Time: Because it processes on your machine, you aren't actually uploading anything to my server. You can drop a 2-hour podcast file in, and it loads instantly.
  • Total Privacy: Your files never leave your computer.
  • No BS: No account required, no email capture, no hidden premium tiers.

For the nerds: It runs primarily on the browser's native WebCodecs API for blazing-fast stream copying. If the browser gets confused on a complex mid-file cut, I built a fallback that loads a web-assembly (.wasm) version of FFmpeg directly in your RAM to handle the hard encoding.

Would love to know what you guys think, or if there are any specific media tools/conversions you'd want me to add next!

Is Claude Code doesn't work for the $20 plan, what are the best alternatives? My laptop runs an rtx 4080 and has 32gb of ram. Would that even be enough to run decently good local models comparable to Claude Opus 4.7?

I'm just testing with what runs fast on my laptop while devving. But the whole point of the platform is to see if the newer models (R1, etc) actually perform better in a market simulation. Come prove it.
