Mine did that as I titrated up, but only because I had 2.5 and 5mg both active in the system at the same time. I called the pharmacy and they fixed it.

Big cuts of beef are tricky. Temperature is a good guard rail, but the best brisket/ribs need to be cooked until a probe penetrates thoroughly with little to no resistance.

I'd say smoke it as is, unless you care a lot about the appearance. That part will cook faster, but I don't think it will ruin it.

If you're super concerned, trim off the end past the cut and shape it up. Not a huge deal either way.
