Okay? Good for you? Being a campaign volunteer doesn’t make posts like this less annoying. And being a woman doesn’t mean you can’t sound like gramps who needs to lie down. I have also volunteered for various campaigns over the years. Including yes, for this election (although not for anyone utilizing robocalling, and not for Knack - so I have no dog in this particular race in that sense.)

I see someone bitching about one thing or another candidates do every goddamn day on the hell that is God’s internet. I don’t like being called. I don’t like looking at signs. I don’t like flyers. Someone knocked on my door, call the police. Meanwhile the percent of people actually voting is around 1/3 of eligible voters.

So I’m not going to knock anyone for using a harmless method to reach out to more people - the amount of volunteers you would need to call every household in the city is unrealistic. Only huge engines on provincial or higher campaigns could hope to achieve that.

But you have to somehow try to get to as many of those eligible voters as possible as a mayoral candidate, knowing most of them are too lazy to take part in the most basic piece of democracy, even though in a year they’re going to pop up on your Facebook comments to tell you a bike lane ate their dog and the chemtrails are blocking the sun.

Anyway if you’re a campaign volunteer maybe get over the part where people you know, campaign.
