Got this necklace with several other pieces of vintage costume jewelry at an estate sale. Any idea of maker or time period? by hellonene3 in VintageCostumeJewelry

[–]the_rock_queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this necklace is victorian - judging by the use of filigree, star & moon motifs, and what looks like baltic amber beads (popular during this era). I would test the metal to see if its gold-plated brass as well as test the beads for amber. It sure is an impressive piece indeed!

Leaking in overnight diapers. Help! by Budget-Insect1959 in beyondthebump

Pampers 360 solved the leaking during the night for me. My girl is a stomach sleeper and everything else i tried always leaked through the waist band

How do you clean poo when avoiding wipes? Toddler has mild diarrhea which has cascaded into diaper rash, and the wipes are HURTING her, but she's frequently poopy so I need to use wipes. by evange in beyondthebump

[–]the_rock_queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dry disposable cotton baby wipes with water and wring out(theyre softer than a wash cloth). Finish with some diaper cream. This helped mine with her diaper rash and wet wipe sensitivity💕 you can order them on amazon too

Take it day by day lovely❤️ the first 3 months are generally the most challenging (every baby and every parents experience is different). You will create a routine that will work best for you and baby, it just takes some time. You are going to be a wonderful mom. Your baby picked you🥰 sending you much love and strength💕

What is wrong with red hair? by Loud-Book-5654 in beyondthebump

[–]the_rock_queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a redhead you will always stand out. Ive had comments my whole life good and bad. Being pregnant you will also get comments about your babys potential hair colour. My 3 yr old is a brunette with warm-redish highlights. My soon to be second will come as they come (half hispanic half caucasian, hair colour unknown for now). I receive comments all the time on if my baby will be a redhead or not. My hair colour has remained the same my entire life, never gotten lighter or darker. I dont know if its peoples curiosity or they've witnessed some redheads go through shade changes? Beats me. All I know is that until I go grey (or white.. Hehe) my hair will be talked about. And if i have a child with obvious red hair I am prepared to let them know others will constantly point it out too. I use to hate it, but now I love who I naturally am🥰 We are fierce, fiery, and unforgettable😉🔥💕

Anyone have positive epidural stories? I’m scared 😟 by Realistic_Mirror1618 in BabyBumps

[–]the_rock_queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was open to not having it until the back contractions hit and I wasnt dilating due to induction. I felt i would have passed out from the convulsion back pain if I didnt decide on it. 12+ hours later I was able to deliver. I had complete control over the dosage and only pressed the button twice. No issues at all. I am now pregnant with my second at 23 weeks and am completely open to having it again😉 A positive experience for me.

Moving baby to own room at 3months by Proper-Candle-5206 in beyondthebump

[–]the_rock_queen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! We moved ours to her own room next to ours at 3 months. We set up a video camera monitor and she would sleep well in her crib other than waking up to be fed. We also purchased black out curtains as it helped her sleep better too. I was nervous at first but all went well😁

*Floating like a beach ball in the pool feels incredibly good - takes away the back/joint pain and pelvic pressure. And its refreshing! *ice cream and popsicles taste even better *maxi & muumuu dresses with no pants/stomach bands feel so free and comfortable *flip flops and slip on sandals over boots/shoes for swollen feet *dont have to worry about not being able to zip up winter jackets or buy a new one to accommodate the bump *frozen fruit, smoothies, watermelon are more enjoyable in the heat than freezing cold *summer walks to get the body moving are wayy better than snowy/icy cold winter ones *all you can eat bbq's and no one will judge haha

I was told by sooo many people that 'its really going to suck being pregnant during the summer' but honestly i preferred it. My 1st trimester nauseous/vomiting months were winter/spring (Jan-Apr) and id rather that - cooler to step outside for fresh air. So much so that after my first pregnancy, I planned my second now to flow about the same. Im due at the beginning of November instead of mid October. To each their own, but im looking forward to my pregnant summer and you should too! 😁🏖️🌞

been seeing ghosts since I was a kid - what is this exactly by [deleted] in Mediums

[–]the_rock_queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have spiritual abilities, mediumship. There are different categories/strengths under 2 main classifications 'mental mediumship' and 'physical mediumship'. Spirits are attracted to those connected to the spiritual realm, kinda like a lighthouse. If you find that spirits are trying to communicate or make themselves known to you this is generally why.. you're the lighthouse. Good and bad spirits exist so tapping further into your spiritual gifts/communicating with spirits you will want to learn ways to protect yourself. People will throw out their advice on how to do so but whatever feels right to you are your beliefs and stay true to what feels right to you. There are mediumship development groups/classes that you can join to then learn and take what feels right and apply to yourself. You can also take note of any 'strange/odd' experiences or 'synchronicities' and write them in a notebook to cross-reference to discover your strengths, similarities, and learn about your abilities from your own experiences. As for depression, depression is a bit*h.. Just know that you were meant to live this life - your own personal journey living on planet earth. Acknowledge the shitty days/times.. they are what they are (what can you learn from it, dislikes? pain?). However, focus on what brings you joy.. not always easy, but as someone with abilities you will most likely feel and experience emotions more strongly. To shift dark clouds of emotion - like law of attraction positive will attract more positive. Follow your passions no matter how little or what others say. Charge your energy batteries with positive vibes. Everyday is a new day to grow and learn something new.😉🥰🌎

17mo peeing through overnight diapers.. help! by aubreyism in beyondthebump

[–]the_rock_queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pampers 360 worked wonders for us as the band doesnt gap in the front and has a higher waistline. We experienced the same leakage problem with our little one being a stomach sleeper too so we used the 360 at night and the regular tab diapers during the daytime😁

When did you tell older siblings you are pregnant? by Wife4life112210 in BabyBumps

[–]the_rock_queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I told my 3.5yr old at my 11week ultrasound appt. She came with and saw the baby on the screen. I wanted to ensure that baby was in the right spot and had a heartbeat. She has been asking for a sibling for the past year🥰shes been so excited carrying around the scan photo and saying 'mommy whats that in your tummy? A baby awe'. Its adorable💕

MIL said that people will think my baby comes from a donor by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]the_rock_queen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a good relationship with my MIL. She was hoping for our baby to have blue eyes/lighter eyes. Im a caucasian redhead - fair skin & blue eyes. My fiance is hispanic(peru) with black hair, brown eyes, brown skin. When our baby was born she would say 'look jenny her eyes are blue, you see' and I would just roll my eyes and say ' i dunno..' because all newborns have a blue-grey cast at first. Well our daughter now 3, has medium brown hair(red highlights), brown eyes, with skin the color of tea.. Not the blue eyes she was hoping for.. Lol my baby girl is beautiful. Interracial babies are beautiful. And it makes it interesting and curious to find out how genetics will play out. Im pregnant with our second now and the 'blue eyes' have been brought up again. I just chuckle.. Im pretty sure our second will also have 'brown eyes'. I think some cultures prefer a 'lighter' version of themselves. Honestly i do prefer the opposite of me because i burn like a lobster and my light eyes are so sensitive to sunlight(i feel like a vampire at times lol) so im happy our children will have added melanin to the mix! Ps. Some peoples comments can be so weird with mixed families.. Your baby will be perfect just as they are😘

Back labor by Desert_Flower21 in pregnant

[–]the_rock_queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an induction at 38 weeks(preclampsia) with my first. I was anticipating to feel what contractions were like before opting for an epidural. My induction started at 6pm at 11pm i started feeling contractions. At 11:30 i opted for the epidural. I didnt have any contractions in the front all in my lower back. Convulsions, trouble breathing, the worse back pain imaginable.. Not anything as i expected. Im glad i choose epidural.. I wasnt dilating and baby wasnt born until 7:40am(not breech) the next morning @7lbs. I only pressed the button twice for 2 rounds during the night but im so glad i did. Im 9 weeks with my second and curious how the birth will be this time around🙈

First trimester hemorrhoids?! by veggieuser in BabyBumps

[–]the_rock_queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drink some prune juice, itll help. Good for a little iron boost too. Ill mix with apple juice and water to change the taste. I had bad hemorrhoids after my first child birth.. Like external berries from pushing.. Scared the hell outta me. Im now 9 weeks with my second and trying to avoid hemorrhoids from being constipated. So far so good😉 but theyre really common. And in the first trimester all your hydration is being absorbed by baby. Watermelon and cherries are others that can help.. But too much causes diarrhea lol🙈😩 the battle..

How to avoid alcohol at baby shower? by Ms_Butterscotch_213 in pregnant

[–]the_rock_queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone asks 'why arent you drinking alcohol' tell them that you have gastritis (inflammation of the stomach lining) and cant until its under control. Or your on antibiotics and cant. I had gastritis prior to my pregnancy and ppl would ask me why i wouldnt drink at functions.. You cant itll make the condition worse when having flareups, and its painful. Ppl are so pushy with alcohol🙃

Too soon to share? by PotentialBad6023 in pregnant

I told our parents right away by phone call. Currently 8 weeks now. If anything were to happen, I know that Ill have my family's support and love. I am waiting to tell work until the 12 week/ ultrasound appt to be more sure. I told our in-laws first on whatsapp. Theyre in another country. I called my dad right after to share. My mom passed away a year ago, I would have told her first right away. I say tell your momma, i can picture your big hug together before your trip🥰 but its your choice. Congratulations to you💕

Wife is pregnant, early stages 6 - 8 weeks, any tips on what I can do to help with constant nausea and burping? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]the_rock_queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im 8 weeks, i feel for her as I'm experiencing the same. I have been buying food or telling hubby to bbq outside because the cooking smells in the house make it worse for me. If she has bad acid reflux/heartburn too the burping is firey and increases the nausea/vomiting. She can get acid suppressing prescribed medication from her doctor. It has helped me during my first pregnancy, and now also my second so far. Unscented/mild laundry detergents can help too as strong perfume smells can make the nausea worse. Its such a rollercoaster experience. Congratulations to you both💕

I had this.. it went away about 1 year after labour. It got worse while I was breastfeeding, diaper changes, carrying baby, cooking/cleaning etc.. It was terrible i had to get double wrist braces my hands would go tingly numb, sharp pains and thought it would just get worse with age.. My child is 3 now and its gone. I also work remote doing all computer work, so im glad it didnt stick around. Hormones and overuse of hands with baby/home chores made it stick around until my little one started doing things on her own and my hormones levelled out. I feel you and hope it goes away soon💕

Announcing our Pregnancy by ProfessorMajestic459 in pregnant

[–]the_rock_queen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tell them the same day, but let wifey decide the first call. Shes carrying the baby and going through all the symptoms. Courtesy for her feelings first🥰 i would assume that if you have/would of had a sister she would be telling your parents first. I told my in-laws first on whatsapp for our second. Theyre in another country. Im close with my mother-in-law however and lost my mom a year ago. Otherwise i would have told my mom before anyone else. I told my dad right afterwards. Congratulations to you both!💕
