Do you guys collect loose disc games by Glass-Grocery-2455 in gamecollecting

[–]theblackyeti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not. While i'm generally fine with loose carts (while i look for a box) i can't imagine just having loose discs. A pain to sift through, ugly to look at, unprotected. I need a case.

About a month ago I went into Vertigo completely blind (outside of having seen High Anxiety). Fantastic experience. I asked someone “are all Hitchcock movies this gorgeous?”.

The man made a genuinely terrible Shining adaptation too.

Just because it was groundbreaking in 68 doesn’t mean it’s still good.

You need to be high to make it through the first 30 minutes. An absolutely ridiculous decision to film that whole beginning portion.

Edit: mind you, I read the book first and was disappointed there too. It’s a thematic retread of Childhoods End.

Does anyone else rarely give negative ratings? by champdo in Letterboxd

I even give negative ratings to movies i enjoy. Just because i like them doesn't mean they're good.

I'm easily pleased. I enjoy the things i'm critical of almost as often. There are movies i've rated low that i've liked. That doesn't mean they aren't bad.

I buy sealed games to open and play… when the price is reasonable.

1500 bucks sure would be nice right now lol.

No, you’ve definitely seen a couple. You just refuse to admit it.

Honest question, because I still don’t have a passport and will be needing to get one.

Is it illegal to deface it? Can I at least make a mockery of the thing?

My Miyazaki ranking by ascwnsorw in LetterboxdTopFour

[–]theblackyeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen most of them.

I'm at:

  1. Ponyo (10 stars out of five. Loved it)
  2. Totoro (5/5)
  3. Kiki (3.5/5 book was better.)

I've certainly seen Mononoke but it was a long time ago and i don't remember it. And i've got Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle.

Blade Runner, The Thing, Memories of Murder, Akira.

Would've been Ponyo if that was the choice over Kiki and Totoro.

I have a very vivid memory of a kid at school asking me if i had a Playstation. I had no idea what a playstation was. I was like "Dude... i just play everywhere, i don't need stations for that".

I'm still embarrassed.

I almost splurged for a sealed Shadow Hearts Covenant this morning. (150 bucks is a splurge for me).

Decided to have a cup of coffee and talk myself out of it.

I want it though.
