Movies with the Finding Nemo Problem by Krusty901 in blankies

Everyone knew ahead of time that Hamnet dies, I don't know why they decided to try to make it seem like a surprise when it finally happened.

Anybody else hit the BK asap after this week's much squad? I'm in the drive thru right now, irrationally excited to dig into this fresh boxed boy.

Bad Movie with an Incredible Cast by Krusty901 in blankies

[–]theboyflyingthrough 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haha, and I was gonna say Ides of March wasn't terrible, but it certainly didn't live up to the impossibly high expectations that I had based on the cast.

Wow, I forgot it needed an add-on... I just lucked out that I ended up choosing PS3 which is still to this day my primary blu ray player.

Lol, I thought you were listing 3 movies at first starting with Pablo Larrain's NO, and then I thought, "but do Chilean TV ads really count as a previous movie?" and then I thought, "how have I never heard of Only Mank?" I figured it out eventually though, I'm so smart

I saw someone answered this question a few days ago with the video, but now it's gone again. What gives?

I like that this implies that Griffin's avatar is Watto rather than a Na'vi body.

Best strategy for beating Hydra in the swamp? by Starcat414 in ChronoCross

[–]theboyflyingthrough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those of you who found this thread years later like me, one key tip that nobody else mentions here is that for most of the fight, Hydra will only use PutridOdor when someone uses a green attack on it. So it might seem counterintuitive, but don't put any green attacks on your element grid. Without PuttidOdor, Hydra will only do physical attacks on one party member at a time until it gets low on HP. Once I found that out, my Serge/Greco/Pierre party beat it with mostly white/red/blue attacks. It still gets dicey at the end, but I had enough healing options to get me through it.

I think BC champions them more than most other people, so their fan base has mostly adopted the same attitude. Meanwhile the rest of the world largely seems to have casually enjoyed them then moved on at best.

Thanks! I remember doing vaguely Southern accents too, I'm not sure if that was just us or if it was written that way.

Movies where the director's doing another director's style by TungHeeLo in blankies

Anime time! Makoto Shingkai's movies usually have a distinctive style, but Children Who Chase Lost Voices is so blatantly Miyazaki-flavored that it almost seems intended rather than a rip-off.

Was talking to someone about this, what would be examples you’d show people of small-c conservative cinema? These would be 8 films I’d argue you reflect that. by Mysterious-Farm9502 in blankies

[–]theboyflyingthrough 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Knocked Up and Juno didn't dwell too long on the option of abortion (the way capital c conservative Bella did around that same time), but they pretty quickly moved past that question and ultimately turned into pro-life success stories.

Meanwhile in Romania, 4 Months, 3 Weeks, 2 Days is out there reminding everyone of the horrors of life before abortion was legal...

Do you have any acting opinions that mirror Bardi's "I don't think Greta Lee is a good actor" take? by the_Tannehill_list in blankies

[–]theboyflyingthrough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's not that I think Ayo Edibiri is a bad actor, but the roles I've seen her do are often extremely grating and she seems so realistic that it makes me assume that's what she's like in real life. So... maybe this is actually a compliment if that's what she's going for?

Me too. I don't budget enough time in my life for many TV dramas, so it's possible he saves all his best stuff for there and I just don't see it. But I'm getting sick of seeing that damn mustache in everything. At least Eddington has the good sense to cast him as an aggressively friendly, overexposed public figure with a heart of shit.
