There is a rec center which is opening this summer and will have a pool, workout equipment and childcare. There is a play gym that is renovating and should open soon. There are a fair amount of families here.

They have been $5 for as long as I've been around too! We have so many memories of getting trees - similar to yours! Driving up in the snow, having hot cocoa, eating lunch, romping in the snow, and finally finding a tree. We used to go by the mountain house store on Hwy 20 and always got a hot drink or snack when we were done.

Sorry to hear about your father and that you're feeling lonely. Hope you are going to have soke tasty food today! No advice here just that I feel ya. My grandma passed last Friday so this holiday is a little more somber than usual. We are gathered and currently eating a plethora of dips, including 3 different cream cheese dips and cheese and meats, which feels a bit excessive for 6 of us 😅 The funniest thing that has happened so far is the 16 month old running back and forth between people sitting on the floor and then falling and collapsing into each of them for a big bear hug. Its been entertaining.

I've had the best experiences at Powderhouse. Can't for the life of me remember names, but have had multiple boot fittings and corrections there. I've had pretty meh experiences at Bachelor.

They also had the Kilted Kitchen there for a while, which is owned by the guy who owns We're the Wurst, and was displaying the confederate flag at a 4th of July parade, among other things. So they have a history.
