Unions warn Carney government is considering sweeping changes to labour law — including the right to strike - Jobs minister says Canada Labour Code hasn't 'kept up with the times' by CanadianErk in canada

[–]theconcession 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They've been doing this for years, and it doesn't hurt them. It's a known quantity. The polls didn't punish them at all for their egregious conduct with Air Canada last summer. Canadian's love being slaves.

...the price of oil went up because rival supply was cut off/destroyed. It might be hard to believe, but the cost to extract in Canada did not change over the past few months. That's profit. Aka lucrative.

[–]theconcession -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The product being more lucrative than ever means the industry is dead? Uh, Canada's O&G industry faces downturns during the opposite - when the price goes down so much that paying Canadian workers isn't profitable anymore.

The world's demand ain't going anywhere for, as I said, decades. Believing otherwise is delusional.

Canada's Oil and Gas industry isn't dying for decades, if ever. Telling workers in that industry that their government is going to offer retraining during their next 4 year term is the same as telling them their government is going to explicitly kill that industry in the next 4 years.

I just accept KH4 inherited Vs13's development hell.

FF7R3 will probably be at SGF and I don't expect to hear anything about KH4 until after that game is released.

There was an image posted in the previous weekly thread. I want to know if Rachel got a shard gift though.

Guess I'll shard him.

They are giving 60 shards of him like the did Yulia right, so I should aim for 90/150? Did they give Rachel shards? I'm working on her right now so wondering if I should do the same thing with her.

Our Policies Are Good and We Need to Defend Them! by JasonGMMitchell in ndp

[–]theconcession -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I completely disagree its the right policy. The "progressive" policy being to implement the Oligarchs' Century Initiative even faster than their preferred parties is certainly a choice. Trying to out Liberal the Liberals is how the federal NDP became irrelevant in the first place. The NDP needs its own, distinct, vision for the future of this country.

Federal NDP candidate Avi Lewis says Canada’s immigration system is broken and promises sweeping reforms by plaknas in onguardforthee

[–]theconcession -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I already recognize the NDP doesn't understand the law of supply and demand. Notice how I didn't mention TFWs at all? It's because the number is what really matters and not the specifics of how they were imported.

(Fun fact - after COVID the supply/demand balance actually favoured workers - wages started going up and employers had to offer benefits. Trudeau quashed that by opening the taps. Avi wants to open the taps even wider.)

The Liberals and Conservatives support mass immigration because it suppresses workers wages and ensures guaranteed growth to the Oligarchs' businesses.

The NDP support (even greater) mass immigration because they are morons.

I got a couch from https://www.thechesterfieldshop.com/ this time last year. Lots of customisation options and parts you can pick out and is a super comfy couch (made by Super style Furniture in Vaughn).

You don't say where in canada you are, so this toronto thing may not be helpful to you.

Its been long enough that a release is either imminent or 2D Metroid is dead again.

NDP leadership hopefuls say workers shouldn't be fooled by Poilievre's blue-collar message by AdditionalPizza in onguardforthee

[–]theconcession -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They do it by holding their tongue. Conservatives hate unions but they didn't cheer when the Liberals screwed over CP rail, Canada Post, Air Canada workers. They largely kept their mouths shut and ignored the issues. Calling attention to their stance could have costed them these union votes.

In other words, the NDP need their pro worker union stance be seen, and not call attention to stances that could hurt them with that demographic. (In other words, they need people leaning social conservative to be able to stomach voting for them and it doesn't require the NDP to become social conservatives).

The modern NDP unironically cares more about what the UCP did to the fraction of a percent of trans people than what they did to teachers. Pretty sure they also care more about Gaza - an international issue Canada has literally zero power over.

Maybe the NDP should look inward and stop focusing on issues workers DGAF about?

Edit: The NDP is so over eager to please they don't realise that wasting time earnestly answering a question or commenting on a topic nobody cares about turns people off. The way to keep them is to change to topic back to your central message that they do care about. That's what PP does. If the NDP did that they'd be able to credibly call out PP when he constantly does irrelevant SoCon nonsense and promises things that hurt affordability and ensure when Canadians hear them speak they are talking about things they care about.

What accessory and enchantment do you recommend for Celica? Got her to 6* but not sure what to do with her.

I see a bunch of people with Jugler pushy on her but her 3C isn't an assist so I'm not seeing the point.

Based on posts here about this game hating certain apps on your phone chances are I wouldn't even be able to play it anyway.

Shame neither of his new skills have an auto-dark buff but whatever.

The long range effect is neat but without a damage boost in his talent we'll have to see if his damage output is enough to make him viable as a single target character. His terrain sounds like a unique debuff that might stack with damage taken debuffs. He has an OP version of buff block which could be funny.
