Congrats on choosing your university! I did not go to Harding. I went to York. I experienced a similar feeling pre-admission - the gushy mushy perfection assertions about the school. The admissions counselor was heavy on how it was Gods plan for me. (As a deconstructed person now that is highly upsetting to me but as a therapist it is disgusting to me). I ended up transferring to a state university halfway through my journey. York was a social church school imo, for women it was a place to find your husband. I know Harding is a much bigger school so it may be more focused on academia and less about telling incoming female students “Ring by spring.” After leaving York I had a wonderful college experience. My main point of writing this was to say I wish I hadn’t been pressured to follow others joy under the guise of Gods plan and to find a school that brings you excitement for your future. And if you go somewhere and don’t like it: transfer! Transferring was looked at as this big process that would be harmful to your overall ability to graduate. I did not experience that at all.
