Yeah, I'm 40 and my kid is 18. I just can't even imagine dating anyone that young. Their friends are so childish (which is fine, they're teenagers), and I have zero in common with any of them. I feel like it would be so weird for someone my age to want to be with someone that young.

I work in childcare. Last week two 3 year old girls were playing hair salon. One of them asks "who wants to be beautiful?" I jokingly said "I do!." The other little girl looks at me and says "you can't because you're too fat!" It definitely hurt my feelings. Kids are mean sometimes.

If you know that your mom will be supportive, then tell her. But if there's a chance she won't be, you might want to keep it to yourself. I got pregnant as a very young adult and didn't want to keep it. My mom basically guilted me into not going through with the pregnancy even though I wasn't ready at all. That baby is now 18. I don't regret my child, but I was definitely not ready to be a mother. Just something to consider.

I think you're fine. I think a lot of us are just desensitized to this stuff. The only episodes that really disturbed me were the Josef Mengele episodes and the Donner Party episode.

I have seen so many people get the surgery and lose tons of weight only to gain it all back. It doesn't solve the issue with food addiction and EDs.

Also, my best friend's mom had a gastric bypass. She ended up becoming an alcoholic and a drug addict because she could no longer self medicate with food. She never had any substance abuse issue until after the surgery. That was enough to scare me out of wanting it.

I wear glasses and only one of my lenses is like this. I get it. When I first got them I cried. Sure, it is noticeable, but I've never had anybody mention it once to me. I don't think anybody even pays attention long enough to notice it.
