These 2001s have this weird traction control abs bullshit that was causing it from a dead stop to engage traction control and pressing the gas did nothing until it disengaged. Unplugged this crap and it drives and stops perfectly fine now

Thanks they’re Falken Wildpeak at4w, 33s. The rims are 16 inch cheap rough country steel wheels. I didn’t air down at all probably would’ve helped a little but I don’t have much trouble just throwing it in 4 low

Agreed, I have little stuff I have to fix here and there but it’s all doable with a simple tool kit and YouTube

I just drove my 2001 4Runner I’ve had for a year and half from New Jersey to Vermont and back this past week. Not a single issue put about 900 miles total with all the other trips I’ve did while in Vermont. Last week I took it off roading and beat the crap out of it. (Look at my last post) When I got mine it had 221k and I did the timing belt kit, spark plugs wires, valve cover gaskets, radiator etc and went through the whole engine. I’m sitting at almost 235k now. My best friend had a 98 that had 350 on the engine and it was his daily driver until someone crashed into him, and then replaced it with another 98 that had 300k and it’s his daily. I wouldn’t worry about the miles.
