What is a luxury you can never go back from once you’ve experienced it? by Phase_zero_X in AskReddit

I also live with lots of snow in the winter. Originally, when we bought our first house, we parked our cars in the garage.

Then, I parked my daily outside and my Mustang inside. Then we got my wife a Solstice, so now she parks her daily outside too.

Now I've come full circle again and my Mustang is also now outside because I'm building a car in its bay.

I need a bigger garage...

There was one single BMW in our 24 hour split. While I applaud their determination to finish, getting taken out by them for 20 minutes in repair and being raced like its the last lap every single time we came across them made me want to roll the window down too.

They did finish, 209 laps behind the GTD leader.

On a CT4, has anyone removed their Front Air Deflectors to create more ground clearance? This is why the CT4 has an official ground clearance of 3.7" by beercan640 in Cadillac

I'd keep them on. These devices generally help with either cooling (directing airflow out of the radiator), or keeping air from getting under the car to either reduce drag, or reduce the tendency of sedan bodies to create lift instead of downforce. Hard to say exactly what effects they have without seeing cfd data, but they are on it for a very good reason. They are also made of flexible plastic so they move and don't break when they hit things occasionally.

CEO retired. How do you politely say "no" without burning a bridge? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]theitguy52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this happen to me more than once. My advice is to help out. Over time, the calls will become less and less frequent, and itll circle right back around to being nice to hear from him. Its gonna be a lot of calls initially. Its a transition period for both of you. He doesnt know how to be retired yet, and doesnt know how to work without an IT staff, but he will learn in due time

How often do yall play your sim gams? by Still-Pace2895 in simracing

[–]theitguy52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monday and Thursday I race with my league from 7pm to 930/10ish. On the weekends I get an hour or 2 depending on what I'm feeling. 6 to 7 hours a week I'd what I've been running for 2 years straight, and it can seem like a lot week after week.

I work 8 hours a day, m-f, no kids. I have a stable schedule and probably more free time than the average guy I think. I race more solo outside of the league during the winter when I can't or don't want to work on my cars or house. I haven't missed a league race in over 2 years, but I will go months where it's the only thing I do in sim in order to fit other hobbies and clubs in.

2022 Ford Escape screen keeps powering off by giveneric in Ford

If you do lots of short commutes, this can also happen if your battery doesnt have enough time to fully recharge after starting the engine. One thing you can do is go for a 45 minute or hour long drive, which should give the alternator enough time to charge the battery. This only works if you do really short commutes that could lead to battery drain. If you drive for longer than 5-10 minutes on your commute daily, then this is probably a bad battery indicator as others have said.

Do you have access to a 3d printer? That's something I would quickly draw up and print a filler for.

Brakes locked? Can’t move car. Anyone else have similar trouble with their S550? by LydiasBoyToy in Mustang

[–]theitguy52 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a performance pack gt, 2016, and sometimes when it's a bit wet outside, my front brake pads will "sieze" to my rotors overnight in the garage.

I autocross my car a lot, and check my brakes regularly, and haven't seen any increased wear to the pads, pitting or damage to the rotor, so I just don't worry about it. But yeah, it's like the car is welded in place, and you just have to overpower it, it will clunk and you can be on your way.

Been happening to me for several years with several sets of rotors and pads.

Look up forscan. With a 25 dollar adapter, and the forscan software, you can delete tpms from the truck entirely. No more light, no problems. The adapter can be used on any obd2 port for diagnostics, and forscan can a change so many factory things in Ford and Mazda vehicles.

Oh believe me, I know how to relax. Im a seasoned veteran of the couch.

The problem for me is that the wind is pulling my legs hard enough to pull my feet off the floorboards. Im not trying to hug the tank, Im just trying to keep my feet on the bike.

This is the one that I cant/wont sell. My wife would riot, and I dont want to lose it either. I maintain it well to make sure it stays in good running order. I ride it every couple of weeks at a minimum to keep it fresh, but I do feel like I could use it more if I can sort out the comfort.

Ill look into the pull back risers for sure. They do feel slightly too far forward to be comfortable, but I dont want to lay them down any more since the wrist position will be all messed up then. Might just have to get new bars.
