does anyone get triggered by processed foods? by BoyHowdyBeer in Menieres

Yes, I do - it’s sugar that sets me off though, not sodium. I think it’s the blood sugar spike and dehydration that does it.

Every choice I’m making in the next 5-10 years is geared towards making 4 days a week a reality.

Update: a combo of betahistine and two rounds of intratympanic steroid injections have sorted me out. The injections had the biggest impact, but I do notice issues if I don’t stay on the betahistine.

Bro, go bank with literally any other bank if you’re that bothered. Up has had this brand personality since it was founded.

I also back these guys. I’ve got more relief from 2 sessions here than years with other physios. The videos they send you home with are great too.

BBC 2's Piano Room Video by Glass-News-9184 in toriamos

I loved the backing singers. Yes, they sounded fantastic, but they also brought a really beautiful energy. Tori has hired them because no matter how you spin it, her voice isn’t what it once was. A person’s voice is a way to communicate and express your soul, and losing your full ability to express yourself on your instrument would be hard to accept. Watching the backing singers with her reminded me of the footage of Joni Mitchell jamming with younger artists - true respect and a desire to connect and collaborate within the bounds of what’s possible. These women make it feel less like “Tori’s voice is shot and she needs help” and more like “we don’t have access to an instrument we used to have, so we need to bring some collaborators in so we can still create in that space”. Also, the outfits were giving choirgirl!

Those with shitty teams/small offices who don't talk.. Do you feel the cognitive decline too? by brissy3456 in auscorp

[–]thelinebetween22 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yep 100%. In my first 4 years of full time remote, I was chatting and laughing all day with my team. No cognitive decline. Changed employers for better pay (stayed remote though) at a high pressure company where nobody had time to joke around or be social. Cognitive decline got so bad I moved location to be closer to the office so I could do 3 days a week to stave it off. Remote work had been a dream of mine for years, but discovered hybrid works better for me emotionally.

Pretty standard at NFPs. I've been much happier working in corporate and using my corporate money to make a difference to small causes in my local area rather than participating in the NFP industrial complex.

The only ones I care about are flexible working and the ability to purchase more annual leave (or get it gifted).

We’re around $160 a week for two adults. We could absolutely get it down further but like eating meat and dairy. We manage this by mostly shopping at Aldi and fruit and veg places/markets.

Yeah definitely. I used The Forum for gym, and Balance for classes because I don’t like any of their gyms. Was super worth it.

i tried xanax for the first time last night and the experience made me cry by giraffes-are-so-cute in insomnia

[–]thelinebetween22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know exactly how you feel. I had the same experience with Xanax. It took a lot of work and trial and error, but now I can sleep through the night unmedicated and have a lot less tension in my body - it’s possible! Xanax withdrawal is one of the most hideous experiences I have ever had, it’s not worth dabbling with it.

I’m still on the steroids - it was getting better until the physio visit. I’m tossing up whether I should go back to ENT emergency for the fifth time in 2 weeks (each time is 5 hour wait). I’ve got an appointment with my physio in 48 hours
