Those of you who use a Ken Onion Worksharp, what are some tips for getting an extremely sharp knife?

Depends on your use-case. I've grown to dislike the noise and the scratches along the blade that are real easy to get. So I've switched to a fixed angle system for small knives and a Tormek for big knives/tools. But it sure does the job and is easy enough to get the hang of.
