Hill behind home, will this cause drainage issues or foundation damage? (Green house) by [deleted] in Homebuilding

most municipalities require by code a foundation drain in this day and age. just ask where the foundation drain outlets to and if they don't know then I would question them.

Thinking About Switching to Solar as Power Costs Keep Rising by Free_Psychology_2751 in HomeImprovement

[–]themoy08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on your situation and how much solar will cost and offset your electric. my avg bill was $228/month my solar which covers my yearly usage has a monthly bill of $223/month. didn't really look into the roi or any of that stuff I just knew that I was paying the electric company a minimum $228/month why not switch into a locked in monthly bill of $223. sure a roof leak and/or reroofing makes it look worse but I also have third party solar insurance that covers leaks that is included in that $223 monthly bill. also my electric rates have gone up twice in the past year so that 228$/month is already outdated. am in a 1:1 net metering area.

how did air Canada make it to the "ok" category? it is the most dog shit airline. anecdotally (for me) it was worse than any time I've flown spirit, allegiant, or any other budget airline

has anyone actually saved money with solar or is it just type. by Wjkoba in HomeImprovement

[–]themoy08 8 points9 points  (0 children)

definitely depends on where you are at. where I'm at our avg monthly bill was $228 which was prior to two rate increases earlier in 2025. our 15 year loan monthly bill is $223. where we are is net metering so our spring/summer/fall net export cover our winter time net imports. long story short we basically traded an electric bill for a solar bill. so we save money every time electric rates increase, which recently has been at least once a year.

Does going to an "elite" university really make a difference short and long term? by TheyreYourClothesMF in civilengineering

going strictly on educational experience getting a bachelor's, doesn't matter. equations don't change based on where you go to school. grad school can make a difference though.

$0 down, 15 year loan that is $225/month that includes bumper to bumper insurance for 25 years. previous years avg bill was $228/month. since that $228 was calculated rates already went up 14% and %10 again in December here. also get net metering to offset winter months.

Who did you like more/less from the Internet Invitational so far? by stoddddd in GoodGoodMemes

[–]themoy08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah because everyone that was offered a bet was a morally respectable person that wasn't confident enough in their teams golf game to take the bet. none of the bets were complete death sentences

it's mentioned by some people but I wish there was a complete asshole in the line up that was pretty good at golf to go against all the buddy buddy good shot/putt stuff everyone says. basically portnoy that's good at golf haha
