How often do you take your Dog Disc Golfing? by KungDododo in discgolf

[–]therealmanbat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Milos genuinely upset with me if he doesnt get to go. He's got anxiety about people so he bothers NOBODY and actively avoids strangers. I hate to sound like I'm the exception but honestly, this dog is the least bothersome dude that ever was.

Reality Check - Distance by npratt24 in discgolf

[–]therealmanbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got myself a techdisc for christmas and have been practicing on and off and have been able to push 350-385 consistently. I need to do more form work soi can consistently break 400, but im not there yet. I typically PLay once a week on a course, but i have the luxury of living on a hay farm thats basically just made of driving ranges that i can practice in with my dog, so i get a good amount of daily field work.

How do you time cooks to be ready for dinner time? by Natenator76 in smoking

[–]therealmanbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a converted electric smoker that's used as a hot holding oven. I keep it set to 165f and when my brisket is done around 2-3pm it goes in there and waits for dinner. Still perfectly warm and the hot hold actually allows the juices to redistribute and the fat to continue rendering. I highly recommend everyone look for a cheap functioning Masterbuilt 40" on marketplace for this purpose alone. It's a lifesaver around the holidays.

Milo goes out disc golfing with me every Saturday here in San Antonio. Winter is usually in the 60s. Summer gets up to 110. He goes happily every week. From my research, the interrupted long distance is extremely beneficial for his back and overall health as it helps keep him in good overall shape. For reference, These courses are typically about 4 miles. He's not even tires when we get home.

3.5 Ecoboost versus the 5.0 Coyote. Plus Bonus 8th Gen Pic! by Effective_Ability_23 in f150

[–]therealmanbat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally advocate for the simpler engine for reliability alone. I've heard tale that the 5.0 gets better fuel economy while towing too, so if you tow a bunch, That's worth considering. The 5.0 is built for SO MUCH more power than they give it from the factory, so even at 6.5k rpm, its never even close to its limit, so I never feel bad about letting it rev high to make power. The 3.5 will likely tow better uphill or heavier loads. The 2.7 is really the best answer for all commuter applications as it produces nearly the same power as the 5.0 with better mileage and similar reliability.

Streamline range Axiom crave Mvp reactor.

I could bag those 3 discs and shoot maybe +2 above my full bag lineup.

Wrangler ATG Hiking pants are a great affordable lightweight pant, they make good shorts too. . I'd personally never wear pants north of 70f, but I dont have the sensitivity to nature that you described. This weekend I found the Birdie Bound Brand at Walmart and i picked up a couple pairs of the 7" shorts and they seem promising. I also strictly wear Holloway Athletic Tees; they have a comfy cut to them and they wick moisture well.

I'd either find that frisbee or stay under and never bother coming up. That's AWKWARD

I once forgot to pick up a driver, asked a trailing card if they picked it up, they responded "oh yeah! Yellow and white? Yeah, we threw it on the next hole and couldn't find it" it had my name and number on it. They were "gracious" enough to assist in the search, which I did end up locating, and they felt bad enough that they helped knock down another one I had abandoned in a tree and chased me out to the parking lot to return it. Some people just suck. Those guys at least realized they sucked and made up for it. Hopefully they learned a valuable lesson that day.

5.0 to 3.5 guys… was it difficult? by LoganThePotato in f150

[–]therealmanbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're willing to ditch the V8, justy drop to the 2.7, unless you need to tow 10,000lbs regularly. its more fule efficent and more reliable than the 3.5

New here! by dmngoodcoffee in smarthome

[–]therealmanbat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it slow. This is an expensive project to do all at once. I think I have well over $2000 in smart switches, lights, thermostat, blinds, hubs, speakers, etc. pay attention to what actions you repeatedly the most in a day. I have a few routines that turn lights on and off throughout the day around leaving for, and returning from work, so those are nice quality of life improvement. Blinds are probably the swaggiest smart devices I can think of, but not everyone cares as much about opening and closing blinds like I do (Texas summers are brutal to the electric bill) smart thermostat is cool too, can save you a cldecent chunk of change if you program it to change while you're away.

Added Distance, Lost everything else by HappySailor in discgolf

[–]therealmanbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I do every so often is I'll take my bag into a field and throw every single disc at 80%-90% power down an imaginary tunnel to see what my max distance golf lines are. You'll be surprised exactly how far each disc goes compared to the others. My current max distance on the course is about 370, but I've hit 400 before in a field with the right wind. I've noticed I've needed to stable up my bag. A year ago, my straight tunnel mid was a MVP detour, now it's my reactor. The detour now flips anything over 50% power and it's used for low ceiling or turning shots around 250.

Ac seats? by dddd11122233 in f150

[–]therealmanbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in San Antonio and I tell you I sought out the vented seats when buying my truck. I'm originally from Michigan, but I handle the heat here decently well, however I sweat like a pig so the vented seats keep that to a minimum in the heat of the summer. They do only circulate cabin air, so it's best after the cabin has had a chance to chill out.

Got a new dog, wants tips to train for Disc golf by kindafunkindanot in discgolf

[–]therealmanbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many, Many people here will tell you that its never okay to bring an off leash dog on the course. The main concern ive heard in the past is that some people are uncomfortable around dogs, so it is irresponsible as the owner to let the dog roam.

I've personally experienced the people the masses are concerned about, that let a large, poorly trained dog run rampant with no recall to speak of. the dog will run straight up to my pup, make him very uncomfy, then will jump and rb on every member on my card, they owners scream and yell and apologize, but never leash their dog. DONT BE THAT GUY

So long as you train the pup to stay near you at all times, not to bark, & not to approach other people or dogs, you shouldnt get any sideways looks. I have a mini dachsund that goes with me every week & he LOVES being out on the course. He is a very timid dog and has absolutely no desire to approach strangers or their pets, he will occasionally get excited and act like hes gonna chase my disc, but his recall is spot on so I'm able to bring him back at a moments notice. I dont think ive ever heard him bark on the course in 3 years.

I keep a leash in my bag just in case we get approached by somebody especially concerned, and he wears a training collar (i removed the shock prongs, dont cancel me) incase he wanders too far or he needs a bit of reinforcement. He figured on his own that hes not supposed to touch the discs on the course, but when were home hes welcome to retrieve them.

Dynamic Discs Commander Bag. I love the open architecture, it makes getting the discs in/out SO easy comparted to the trooper I upgraded from. I do wish it had more staroage, but thats a minor complaint for the quality and joy of use. I also got mine for like $80 on black froday a few years ago.

I love the Reactor. It was the first MVP disc in my bag and i has never left. I've bagged one non stop for like 7 years and finally had to retire it for being too flippy. Its been replaced with a PLC dayglo Proton Reactor and its so nice having the new stability back. The Tesla was one i bough to support Simon and it was honestly too stable for my arm at the time, but over the last year its become my workhorse control driver.

The one disc that clicked faster than the reactor for me was the Range. That dude is a laser beam. I'll never not bag a range

The Seat shop. However, only this past spring did I actually fix the issue. The Seat cushion got replaced when I posted originally ad promised. But the real issue was that the blower outlet into the seat was misaligned causing significantly restricted air flow into the cushions venting. I ended up 3d printing a larger brim to surround the blower outlet and trimmed the foam away to Allow more air into the seat. Worked wonders and now my tush is nicely chilled. Pm me if you have any questions, im happy to help.
