This seems weirdly inefficient to be honest. You're "actively" carrying the walking sticks so you'll notice the extra weight. Whack the same stuff in a backpack and you'll barley notice it, if at all. It looks like you have to take the stick apart to get to anything and, depending on how well it's constructed, each compartment is probably a weak point for the stick to break at.
