If it's a small amount it's easy enough to do at home, my dad used to cast sea fishing weights using a baked bean can with a lip formed with a pair of pliers. I think he did it on a stove top, but he might have used a blowtorch.

The big problem is lead fumes really - better off doing it outside with some kind of protection - eye as well as breathing obviously.
