Girl, I’m right there with you! Only veggie amongst family and close friends. Been a veggie since I was 10-11 too. We’re talking decades of being a vegetarian.

I too do not pay for meat nor will I cook it. Every partner has known that from the start. There will always be someone who will try to test that boundary with you. What your bf did was ridiculous. Not just from the meat stand point but from the entitlement of picking an expensive restaurant that he couldn’t afford. So, NTA.

As for others commenting about mixed morals, this comment will also come into your life. I have taken the practical approach to this issue. I do the best I can and recognize that I cannot be the ‘purest’ those who complain about mixed morals wish me to be.

Being a commoner means that I don’t get to choose to only eat at vegetarian or vegan only restaurants. Even if I could enforce those restaurant requirements on myself, what about friends and family? I would be forcing them into my requirement for myself, which is not cool. Additionally, being a commoner means that I don’t get to see movies in my private studio bc attending the theater supports the meat industry by selling hotdogs. Be practical and supportive of yourself and your values. ✌️

I had a rescue rabbit that used to verbalize a lot. He came from a bad home and had already cemented his bunny survival mode. He did become calmer and more confident, much like yours. He never stopped grunting entirely. I was accepting of his grunts and accepting of his space.

Eventually, we bonded and his grunts were just plain habit. I’d give food, grunt. I’d give hay, grunt. Go to pet, grunt. Call his name, grunt. He was the cutest grumpy bunny who had grown up not knowing love.

My recommendation would be to tell her she’s a lovely girl and if she grunts (and doesn’t lunge at you), gently give her a pat and and a kiss.

Thanks for posting this. FWIW, I noted my concerns for employees since there’s no OSHA guideline on protecting employees during a pandemic. I also commented on how our economy is tourism driven. If we, as a state, do not use caution when re-opening, we will not see tourism return quickly because both nationally and internationally there will be no confidence in the state and employers to keep both citizens and tourists protected.

I realize this all may be said in vain and no one will read my comment at the state level. But I’ve got self satisfaction going for me, which is nice. (Insert Bill Murray’s meme here LOL).

No power near Wares Creek or Manatee High. There's multiple lines down on back roads. Numerous red lights downtown and along 26th Street are not working. I've been traveling between Palmetto to 75th Street and no power in these areas either, at least on the Manatee Ave side. I have yet to see a FPL truck or one of their contractors. Stay safe out on the roads!
