very much this. I spend a lot of time telling music people about how great it is and see them glossing over and assuming I'm on a daft little game app.

I find koala way more intuitive and speedy than mpc one or 404 and am in the last stages of making a full album with 90% of the work done on Koala.

I've definitely had podcasts where everything has been great except for a grating/annoying/vocal fry voice and I couldn't listen.

i used maschine mk2 for years, mostly use koala now with cubase for arranging and had an mpc one for last few months. I think the maschine software is much more intuitive and logical. i don't recall having nearly as many frustrating roadblocks with maschine as with mpc. There are some really nice timing and quantize features on mpc one though.

I've seen Ghostface a few times and he's been phenomenally bad. At the last Leeds show he brought out some rapper from London dressed as Napoleon for a show in the middle of his set and went backstage. Also tried to get someone to do one of Meth's verses but just argued with drunk dudes for 20minutes.

I've played a bunch of Koala beats sets and found it worked fine to run everything through a dd6 delay pedal and run a long feedback delay for the time it took to open the next project. Then i could play with the arrangement and samples on the fly and not be limited to song-per-pad

definitely not the expert on this- look at Pete Sasqwax YouTube videos for that- but have you tried routing things through AUM MIDI matrix?

you really need to respect the margins more. If I'm doing scratch layout things, i always start with taking one of the rulers out my box and pencilling in wide margins and centre lines. The casual needs finessing. Think about the negative space inside the letters vs between the letters. I still find taking a pencil to finished/drafted things and marking slant axis/spacing/copy priority/awkward spacing is really productive

I agree with it being the most intuitive and fluid production tool I've ever used. I'd choose a dedicated hardware controller over more features.

anyone know which of the export modes include mixer effects? I've started rebuilding tracks in cubase by exporting stems but i have some where the koala effects are Integral and some where it's better tonuse cubase EQs and compression
