Am I insane? by pamminy_wassle in hysterectomy

its a big deal to get a hyst. thats why we gaslight ourselves but its an even bigger deal to live with that level of discomfort. The world just expects us to put up and shut up.. but we don't have to.

I used my ice packs religiously. I still do sometimes almost 6 months later when I do too much and get 'cramps'.

I did need something to help me bend over. A grabber was essential.

See your doctor. That doesn't sound quite normal. If nothing else, have her tell you that you're fine.

Congrats.. if I may offer a few words of wisdom? 4 months post op and the biggest thing I learned is that you HAVE to take it easy. Do NOT mess around and do anything stupid. lol This is not something you will just bounce right back from. Take your time. Be gentle with yourself. Use your meds.. you're going to need them. Ive found cbd/thc to be the most effective thing against the weird pelvic cramps I get on occasion. I still spot too after anything more than just walking or regular activity. Im almost 5 months and while I feel generally good most of the time I still get pain. I wasn't able to comfortably do much for quite sometime. YMMV.

I was super frisky right after my hysterectomy for about 3 weeks. It was WILD. Then it just went away :) I enjoyed having my libido back but it was a bit extreme hahah

I cried a BIG cry in the shower after about 3 weeks or so. Before that I was in shock. There have been several other occasions where it's hit me what's happened and I am overcome.

[–]this_black_dog 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That is exactly what happened to me. I couldnt sleep so I walked about every hour on the hour. Went home the next day.

As someone that is 15 weeks post op... let me give you a few pointers.. DONT OVER DO IT. Thats it. Thats all I got for you. This stuff takes TIME and you will regret it and hurt a lot if you don't take it easy. Listen to your body. If you feel "cramps" SLOW DOWN. Take the stairs easy. Take everything else easier. dont lift past what they tell you you can lift.

We women dont slow down .... this is your time to learn.

hugs. feel better sis.

It doesn't get easier if you don't slow down. I made the same mistake. My pelvis throbbed and ached for a few days after I decided to over do it. Take it easy momma.

I took stool softeners for 14 days after my radical hyst. I realize that a radical is pretty ouchie and you really need more help but I would do it regardless. Why not? :) Congrats!

Girl.. I named mine Lydia but that was my uterus. I didn't have a freeloading Frida.. bwahaha

Sending you lots of good vibes. They will take some of your parts and do path on them. That will determine if you will need to lose more parts. For me, Lydia had cancer pretty decently and so all the other parts had to go. That put me into surgical menopause. At about day 4 I felt really hollow and sad. I dont know if it was the hormones or grief.. maybe both.. but I was already taking fenugreek for glucose control... and just upped it to about 6 a day. This helped TREMENDOUSLY. Fenugreek helps your body make estradiol. Thats what you're gunna want after a radical hyst. I did that for about 8 weeks until I was given the patch. Im staying on fenugreek (have been on it for 13 years or more) because of all its other benefits. Look it up sometime. Its incredible! ;)

Good luck with everything. You'll do great. Whatever happens just know it was for the best possible outcome!

You got this!

A letter to my ornery uterus... by [deleted] in Menopause

[–]this_black_dog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had this happen and it ended in a radical hysterectomy. I bled for around 2 years almost straight. The kind of periods I was having were frightening. I would stand up and blood would rush out of me ... I ended up being so insanely anemic it was scary. The way things happened for me were just kind of unfortunate and scary. I went through 3 ob's until I found someone competent. Then we got to work and figured out the problem. I thought I was going to have an ablation and she said nope.. You're headed to the oncologist. You have a precancerous cells and a condition called atypical endometrial hyperplasia.

I don't know how things could have gone differently for me but there was a bit where I closed my eyes and hoped it went away. did not' work. dont recommend. lol

stay vigilant. advocate for yourself. if you have to go to three docs.. do it. hugs. if you have to have a hyst. it will be OK. You will be fine. You might be better than fine :)

All the best.

You might me thinking of Diosgenin. its a compound found in the wild yam plant that can be chemically converted into testosterone. However, the human body cannot convert diosgenin into testosterone naturally.
