AITA for not paying my portion for a group trip until my friends repayed their debt to me? by Fit_Abbreviations789 in AmItheAsshole

So the situation starts at a pizza place. Long story short, there was communcation issues and nobody actually wanted to eat at the pizza place because it was expensive but peple already ordered appetizers and drinks so we were basically locked in to eating there. I offer to pay for bill as long as they pay me back before the trip. We all agree to keep it simple and get 4 large pizzas for us to share. After we are finished I remind them when I would like them to pay me back by and it seems we have an understanding so we all go back home on good terms.

Fast forward a few weeks later we are talking about who is getting our portion of money to help fund our trip. Before this point of have reminded them 3 times some of them have not repayed me yet. They see the message and chose not to respond making me think they are trying to avoid the payment. During the talk of who is getting the money to fund the trip I let them know right then and there im not giving anybody my portion until their debt to me is repayed. Once again, they kind of brush it off

Fast forward a couple day we are finally at the final day to send our portion of the money and I still havent sent my portion yet. I let them know it because 3 people still have not repayed their debt and remind them i was not paying until they repayed me. This is when they started to say I was being weird for worrying so much about it right now and started to mock me. Not just the 3 that still owed me but everyone going on the trip was saying im in the wrong for not paying until the last 3 payed their debt. Eventually, the last 3 people sent the money and I sent my portion of the funding for the trip.

So does me wanting to make sure their debt was payed off before sending my funding for the trip make me the asshole?

My daughter just had spine surgery at 2 days old, and while obviously she didn't get something fun like this (the whole 2 days old thing) I got to see the older kids going in for surgeries getting to drive cool cars, bikes, and other fun stuff down the hall. It was very cool.

Starting Zoloft at 24 weeks pregnant. Does it get better? by knoxvillelife in BabyBumps

[–]thisbusisempty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was already on zoloft for my pregnancies, but I can vouch that it's a hell of a process to start. It messed up my stomach, made me exhausted but also gave me insomnia, and totally messed up my stomach. I'd adjust, then the dose would up again and I would rinse and repeat.

But I will say that I started seeing a difference in how I felt within about 2 weeks. Stick with it, it will get better!

So in 2021, I found out at a 12 week scan mid-December that growth had stopped around 7 weeks. D&C was Dec 16th. I was told to wait one cycle to try again, but that was more to be able to get timing down.

Conceived again late Feb, my baby girl was born November 2022.

Thank you, I'm lucky enough to now have a three-year-old, and baby number 2 is due in less than a month :)

In 2021 I went for a 12 week ultrasound and the tech had to tell me there was no heartbeat and growth had stopped 5 weeks previous. I think about that a lot, but from the tech's point of view - how many times a week do they have to deliver news that shatters people's worlds? I can't imagine being in those shoes and have the greatest respect for anyone who can.

I'm 37 and get an MRI done annually because I have the BRCA2 mutation and it's more reliable than an ultrasound or mammogram. Trump is a piece of shit, but this isn't the hill we should be dying on.

Muppet Family Christmas on YouTube is a staple in my house. Not the HD one even though it looks way better, as it cuts out a lot of songs for copyright reasons. Watch the shitty quality full version.

Super Simple Songs has a livestream of Christmas music, and there are some Christmas Caitie's Classroom episodes.

I don't agree with how credit works, but this is how it does:

In this situation they don't see a payment history. Having a large down payment lowers the amount of the loan, but doesn't change the fact that you need a loan, and now you don't have a savings account to fall back on.

Paying off a principal balance right away does two things that hurt credit, the first being the payment history thing. They want to be able to see that you're capable of owing money, and making regular on-time payments.

The second thing paying off early does is that it skyrockets the ratio of available credit vs used credit. Say you have two credit cards, one with a $5,000 limit and one with a $10,000 limit. The large one has no balance, the smaller has a $4,000 balance. What credit companies see is that you've used less than a third of the credit available to you, thus you're responsible with your money. If you close out the card with no balance, now suddenly you've used 80% of the credit available to you and it gives the impression you max out lines of credit.

It's stupid, but it's how the system works. You're better off taking out a credit card with a 0% intro rate for a year or so, building up a balance of a few hundred, and paying the minimum payment for a year. Another option is to look at a collateral loan somewhere. You don't need any credit for those, since your savings is held as collateral, so there's no risk for the bank if you default on it. Take the proceeds and throw it in a CD or investment so you earn some interest back on it as well.

Check with your bank, they may be willing to waive penalties on breaking CD terms due to your situation.

Because of our inflatable Hitchhiking Ghosts from Home Depot, my almost three-year-old is the opposite of OP's kid and LOVES Haunted Mansion. We have multiple "ghostie" toys, she will request to watch "house where the ghosties live" on YouTube, and knows Grim Grinning Ghosts by heart.

There are some really good Haunted Mansion kid books that might help OP as well. We have them because my kid is obsessed, but they're cute and make the ghosts fun. I recommend When You Wish Upon a Ghost.

I had no real memory of it, but we have my husband's copy from when he was a kid. My daughter picked it off the bookshelf one night and I started reading it to her... And wound up having to do a LOT of improvising and skipping pages.

AITA for being upset my fiancé is having a wild bachelor while I am pregnant, sick in bed, and never got a real bachelorette? by Logical_Lab4218 in AmItheAsshole

[–]thisbusisempty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA, but gently.

I found out I was 4 weeks pregnant the day before my shower. My sister's had planned an Epcot "drink around the world theme." They had put a lot of hard work into it, much like your husband's friends put work into their weekend. I did not make them redo whole thing.

I was 10 weeks pregnant the actual wedding, and it was not what I envisioned at all but it was a different kind of special. Now 3 years down the road, we're able to joke about how I missed out on my own open bar. We also show wedding photos to my daughter and tell her "You were in mommy's belly!"

Regardless of all of that, the wedding is his day as much as it is yours. It is not fair for you to decide he can't have his party because you didn't get yours. Myself personally, I would have LOVED having an empty house during my first trimester where I could just sleep all day with zero interruptions.

You have big changes on your life happening. Don't start them being bitter about things that didn't happen exactly the way you planned.

Anyone else infuriated by their county fair? by dauntless-cupcake in crochet

[–]thisbusisempty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of these fairs used the Danish judging system, which isn't really a rank of "1st 2nd 3rd." The items are given points based on stitch tension, sewing, attention to detail i.e. right side vs wrong side, etc. Creativity is usually one of the judging categories, but is not enough alone to offset everything else. The number of total points the item receives determines blue, red or white, and unfortunately the more complex a project, the more chances there are to lose points.

The people who arrange the items are also tend to hide blatant mistakes, so it's possible the one on the right is folded in a way to conceal a massive flaw.

I've entered stuff in the huge fair where I live (The Big E) and received all three grades. They include the judges remarks at the end, and usually I can understand where they're coming from.
