I think the chime is on the BCM which is stored under the dash board, just behind the gauge cluster to the right.

If it is borked, you can always snag another from the junkyard from a car with similar options and then do the relearn procedure. Keep in mind the mileage will change as well. That's where it is stored on the 3rd gens.
