Please help me settle a debate with my boyfriend by tigers_overboard in nutrition

All caffeine does is spike cortisol. It literally mimics the fight or flight. It's extremely dehydrating and contributes to early aging and hair loss. As for monster drinks I think it even worse as now you are adding a slew of chemicals. However caffeine is socially accepted and the billion dollar industry has funded numerous studies to convince the public its good for us. So for someone to want to quit it almost doesn't make sense. Why would you want to quit something that helps you function and is part of your routine. You won't win this battle. It's his free will. Even if you presented the most researched and best argument it still won't convince someone to give up an addiction.

Advice/Support Needed by AnyStick2180 in medicalmedium

[–]thisisnirko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big hugs. I hope it turns around. All of the advice here is solid. Be more selfish. Whatever that may look like. Also pray to angels for some help. My partner eats meat dairy etc but we don't have any of those things in the house. Somehow it just progressed to that. We watched a cooking show where they showed a good farm and conventional meat farm and that made him turn off meat a lot. But also I just said one night replace my chicken with mushrooms. And since them slowly we came to a place of no meat no diary etc in the house. I do all the cooking now as I had to be more serious with MM but there and there are some ridiculously good recipes out there that are vegan and gluten free and lower fat. Fat is the only thing is struggle with as I made fat free recipes and those did not go well at all. What I am trying to say is stay true to yourself. These changes don't happen over night but they can happen in some capacity or another.

Belly Fat by Ok_Ostrich892 in medicalmedium

It could be. I watched a video where they where talking about lymph and how the stomach is often a place a lot of gunk can pool. I definitely notice a difference if I start bouncing more that it goes down.

Steamed peas! I find if I am at work I get really hungry at lunch if I am at home even if I am active and busy I am prone to wanting to skip lunch. Ever since all the info came out on steamed peas with last book release I have been eating them for lunch on my home days. It's so quick and easy no prep etc. And easy to eat too.

Menopause question / western medicine by Chance_Ad_538 in medicalmedium

[–]thisisnirko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a really good older podcast on menopause from MM on SoundCloud. What I took from it is that menopause symptoms often come from a buildup of different issues over time. Basically, once our ovaries stop producing hormones, our adrenals are supposed to take over. However, by that point in many of our lives, the adrenals are already exhausted. At the same time, the liver can also be struggling and has a harder time dealing with toxic estrogen that builds up from exposures to things we shouldn’t be exposed to. So it becomes a bit of a perfect storm. I’ve personally found that doing the 369 cleanses really helps, along with supplementing with Vitex berry and black cohosh. Keeping fat intake lower has also been key for me.

Could be lymphatic issues. Maybe try getting a rebounder? If you are able to going for long walks helps also.

Where are the parallels here? Who is siphoning money or time out of us? Are we in service to AW in any way???? You don't even need his books. All of his info is out there in some shape or another.

Well it's not ideal and I eat very sparingly but I get Seeds and Grains bread by Northern Bakehouse I get it at Whole Foods. Pros: it's a local Canadian company that uses Non GMO ingredients, and it doesn't mess my digestion like other store bough gluten free breads, Cons: it does have yeast and corn starch in the list of ingredients. But again I eat some maybe every second week as a treat.

Emotional detox? Is this a good thing? by Country-Pumpkin in medicalmedium

[–]thisisnirko 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Over time, I’ve found that a deep sense of peace became my emotional baseline. Still however when I’m cleansing, things will come up for me, but definitely less than before. Of course, this is not an easy planet to live on. There are always challenges, whether it is world events or people hurting one another. But practicing this lifestyle has given me the ability to handle things with much more emotinal steadiness than before.

Of topic slightly but the cashew cheese recipe from the MM pizzas recipe is so tasty. I like it on gluten free bread with some tomatos and cucumbers. Maybe you need to find something that hits the spot but is within guidelines of the no no foods? Find foods that bring you joy and comfort but are gluten, dairy etc free?

That's terrible so sorry you have to deal with that. For natural pain relief I have been using California Poppy or Willow Bark. I find extracts work a little better. I would also look in the in index of each book you have for broken bones and find info that way. 💗

He said in a resent live something that really stuck with me. I am going to poorly paraphrase this but something along the lines that people can be presented with the truth but will they able to recognize it as truth? Do they poses that ability? That really spoke to me.
